Hell, I have this sort of thing happen everyday, I snap at him, laugh at him or mostly just use my humour and charm to try and calm him down. I've another boss who I always argue with too so we just try and communicate by txt and email, thankfully he's not in my town
I worked at this painting company about 2 years ago and we were doing some work on this old barber shop and i was stripping paint off the southwall of the bulilding and he started to yell at me and he threw his cellphone at the wall and smashed it into peices so i climbed down from the ladder and handed him the paint brush (the brush end with paint still on it)...and said ok you do it yourself im going home i dont need to work for an a**hole like you so i found a job i liked and been here ever since
Had it happen once. Called my boss to tell her that my little guy was sick and that he couldn't go to daycare. She opened her mouth and I was in total shock what came out of it. Called her later back to tell her a friend of mine was gonna babysit and that I would work my weekend and I wouldn't come back after that. And to never ever talk to me like that again. There was total silence on the other end. I wished her a nice weekend and hung up.
She called me back on Wednesday to ask if I wanted my job back.....
I have been at my current job 6 years, and to be honest, I have great boss.
But one time he totally lost his cool. I was so stunned, all I could say was, yes sir, no sir. O.k., Dave, I'll get right on that. I bustled off to get the extra stuff done.
That night his wife showed up at my house, said her hubby felt horrible for treating me that way, and they took me and my daughter out for dinner and we had a wonderful time.
I guess we all just need to blow off steam every once in a while!
When I was in Iraq my boss (luetenant) ordered us to move up across an open plain, I answered that we should put point men up front but he said no, I thought he was wrong and i was proved right when i woke up in the military hospital after getting shot, When I was leaving the army on a medical discharge I made a point of telling him excatly what I thought of him. Thats what you get when they put 23 year olds in charge of men

As I got older,,my tolerance level dropped dramatically.
The last one found a piece of 3"X 2" winging its way towards his head at high speed...To my disblief I missed,,so I went for another. The SOB then appologised.
The one before was put up a truck door with my hand as a neck hook. He was saved by two of my colleagues. He too appologised and promised never to mention "brooms" again in my company...(he later was sacked for being himself..an arsehole).
Well, if my boss shouts at me I get in his face and tell him he doesn't need to talk to me like that! I have no problem speaking my mind to anyone, be it a boss, partner, family member or friend. Treat me with respect and you'll get the same. Disrespect me, and you'll get it!

Boss would never yell at me. If he did it wouldnt bother me. He would get boss lady too say something to me. She doent have to yell, she just uses that certain tone of voice and makes me want to cry lol.
Nope. Not even gonna go there......... as anyone, as in friends, family, my boss, colleagues, anyone in the world in fact, can read any of these posts........ discretion is the better part of valour here, I feel...!!
