My boss would never shout at me. I would never work for someone who thought they could treat me like that in the first place. He respects me and my abilities just as I respect him.

But if it did I would tell him point blank that I didn't
feel it was nessesary. Then if it ever happened again
I would ask to meet with his boss to express my feelings
on his lack of professionalism. I stand up for myself.

Only had that happen once. Had a manager tell me to do something, that I had informed him would not work. When it didn't, infront of the X-Chef he started rampaging at me. His last mistake, as I put his head on the grill and informed him next time I'd do worse.
And no it was not the main grill, so it was not on. But the point was made, and he understood clearly.

Well, there may be hidden bullying tendencies there, I can usually spot those that are capable a mile off, I have had a lot of experience both personally and professionally in this area. If that was the case, over here in the UK, that is a form of harrassment and not allowed in the workplace. A grievance procedure may be raised if bad enough and persistent. There is no excuse!!............. Simple!! 
Bullying in any form is evil and needs eradicating!!
If it was just the once, not too bad, and an apology was given, I may let it go. We are all under pressure and we are all just human!!

I had a boss once that was very hard to get along with he always got onto everyone for the littlest things. Nobody at work liked him because he always complained about everything. One day when I was at work he kept getting onto me becasue I wasn't doing my job in the order he thought I should. It got so bad I just couldn't take it anymore. So I stopped what I was doing and I looked at him, then I looked back at what I was doing, then looked at him again, got off the ladder and started towards him. When he saw me do that he knew I ment bussiness. So he took off from the job I was on and didn't come back. That was the best thing he could have done because I was so mad I really don't know what I would have done.
