We all know and love flirting, and some are very 'skilled'. Some are serial flirters...they just love to flirt.

But, let's say you're interested in somebody, and the feelings mutual. Would you then stop flirting on the forums like you had done before becoming more aware of somebody else? Would you tone your flirting down somewhat, in order to reassure the interested party you want to pay them more attention?

Or do you see flirting as just a bit of harmless fun, and that it shouldn't be taken seriously?

Thoughts appreciated folks. wine

Hello everyonewave
So Aircon - sounds like you have met someone on line and they think you are a bit of a flirt - or maybe you know you are and you dont want them to get the wrong idea? Some people are flirts all their lives but remain true to the person they are with. After all it really is just harmless fun - and if that isnt true then its because you want it to be more and so then you shouldnt be in a long term relationship - for me if I met someone who flirted so long as I trusted him it wouldnt matter. If people cant accept you for what you are then you shouldnt be with them.

Good thread... Flirting is fun, and yes I enjoy flirting.

I would think that if you met someone you liked, that you would stop flirting as much, but not all together. Unless a full commitment was made to a significant other, I don't think you should feel bad about flirting with others. I find that flirting helps in that it opens you up and helps the person you are talking to ...Open up.

I do think flirting is fun, but it can be harmful if it is overdone or misconstrued by the receiver. My 2 cents. grin

I think its just harmless fun.
Who doesn`t love getting a bit of a compliment now and again?

I guess if there was a certain somebody though......then maybe id tone it down a little....
If you really are interested in somebody.....i think it would just come naturally to calm down a little.....out of respect for the other person.....
I dont flirt anyway....so i wouldnt know...............................tongue

Respect and consideration are important things. Sometimes others can read things into something harmless and it is misconstrued to be something other than what it is. Just my 2 cents...professor

Hi Bubbly...thanks for the comments. What you say makes sense, but no, I've met nobody on the net. I'm kinda of the opinion that I'd tone it down somewhat...quite a lot actually, if I was though. Flirting is fun, but letting anybody who's interested in me know that I'm interested in return is much more important. And hell, I do not want to give any mixed signals!

Just my thoughts though!
