I am trying to figure out how a laugh can be 'really bad'.

jaw drop

(ie, I tend to agree with Costadan).

To me, any laugh must be nice. The only thing that can make it sound 'bad' in my view is if it sounds false...

to laugh is a natural sound, could the other person change that even if he/she wanted to? No I wouldn't say anything

No there would be no need to say anything, there laugh is part of them and if a person is a true friend to someone you would not want to change them, but would laugh with them

For me a person with a dirty laugh would be alot of fun to be with not an embarrasement.

Yes definitely, I would tell anybody with a "bad" laugh.
Laughing is someting one learns by oneself. If one had incorrect table manners, one would need to be told it was not the correct way to eat.
If one laughed in such a way to disgust a good percentage of the audience, yes I' d tell him/her to make them a better more presentable person. It is then up to them to change. Remember the proverbial "you can take your horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink.!"

you mean with broken teeth, bad breath, leering face, goes on too long and something totally corrupted in aspectlaugh

No, I would not tell. She would be my lodestone for relationships permanent and impermanent.

Besides, it would be so delightful and make me laugh on and on

I have been seeking a woman with a gorgeously horrid laugh for long years

The thread was about the laugh not about grotesque faces and broken teeth.

Well let me wish you luck in your search for such a woman. I just hope she will never be in the same room where I'll be.

You should hear my laugh then – a cross between a stuttering machine gun and a chain-smoking hyena.
