Ok...what do you think the advantages are? Pubs...nightclubs...the work environment...all were seen as the more likely venues to meet a prospective partner.

I don't like the idea of meeting men in bars, that seems more dangerous that on the net, plus how are you going to get to know someone while trying to shout over the music. I joined this site just wanting to meet some nice local guys to go out with and have a good time, which I did.
On here you have the advantage of writing back and forth and really getting to know someone before you even meet. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they write, intelligence, charm, wit, all important things to me. Then if you like them you can meet in real life and see if they are the same in person.
It worked for me, I met a wonderful man, not even local. I wouldn't have dreamed of having a LDR, but we see each other every few weeks, talk on the phone every day, it works for me.
Dating on intertnet is as advantege. You get out of your circle, learn more about other cultures, and find the oportunity to meet real and kind people. With time if things get better just go with the flow.
I am not sure only had one date off the internet took the woman to see Bob Seger and than she tried to get money out of me. I have been fooling around with the internet now nearly a year was on pof where there was tons of women from my area but got kicked off it.
