Seems to be the new CS trend to talk about money, how much ya got, how much ya spent, and what ya bought.

This is my po folk thread, cause dammit, I wanna tell what I got too!

I got this huge ring at a yard sale for fifty cents, but hey, it's marked sterling.

My Levi's I have on are getting a hole by the zipper but they ain't fitting well lately anyway, so I'm not buying anymore.

Got some groovy leather chairs in the kitchen that was sitting out by the dumpster.

Got some ostrich boots on eBay for $11 and was pissed I had to spend that much.

What'd you buy lately?

LMAO...
Hey Crash, us single Mom's have had to learn how to pinch pennies tighter than the bark on a tree.
I use walmart or dollar store bags for my bathroom trash cans. My FAVORITE pair of shoes got holes in them (I got better ones but always wear the holes cuz they make me feel "at home"). My jeans are SO OLD they bout lost their color. lol. At least yer kitchen chairs match. lol.
I LOVE LIVIN LIKE A REDNECK.

P.S. I got up this morning and have 2 flat tires on my truck, guess I should've went out to see why the dog was barking & pitching a fit in the nite then started yipeing like she was hurt. The kids in this town have no respect for anyone or their property. (Shaking my head). Like I can afford 2 new tires.

Rose.

I think those of us that have to pinch pennies have a little more thought for life. We appreciate something earned alot more than those who have it easy.

I know people who are married and have kids just to let strangers raise them so both can work. They have to have that big house, 2 vehicles and a pool.. all the new gadgets etc. My question is why have kids and let strangers raise them?

I am trying to teach my teenager that she does not have to have everything her heart desires and things have to be earned. Decide what is most important. This is a hard task when other parents hand their kids money without question.. just because. My parents had money when i was growing up but things were never just handed to me.

As for the dollar store.. my favouite.. when i get money I know I can go shopping and find some fun stuff and not spend a lot of money. For a little kid a trip to dollar store is like christmas lol.. well for me too.

I had my sister in law tell me one time.. "It hurts my husband that be cannot support me in the manner I am used too and that my parents have to buy us new things all the time!" Oh did we have it out. If you love you husband and it hurts him say ty mom and dad but we are fine and we do not need everything brand new.

80 percent of my kids clothes come from second hand store and most of them go back to be resold when I am done with them to buy more clothes. My kids never walk around looking poor.. I can buy name brands there too.. and I know how to look those clothes over good and they are just as cute of clothes.

I do not know if Canada is the only place that has Value Village but that place is awesome.. clothes, etc galore.. my teenager gets a little mad about it and not liking second hand clothes so much but you can find awesome things there and she knows it. May take hours of shopping.. but hey I like shopping lol. Just never take a man with you.

I can make a 3 dollar pair of shoes last for a year or so. Who cares what name is on my shoes. I don't and if someone does not like them .. DON'T LOOK AT EM .

I want Value Village! We don't have that!!!!

But I'm the Goodwill queen. And why? Cause I buy the good stuff and sell it for quadruple on eBay to the snoots that don't wanna shop Goodwill. lolololol

Dayum Rose, hate when ya just can't get a break. That sucks big monkey hoohoos. I'm so sorry.

We have Goodwill in Canada but I find it major over priced. I hate buying from Goodwill and I think others see they charge to much and give to other charity places instead.

Thats a great idea Crash selling the stuff on ebay. I make alot of craft things.. with flowers.. swags and such. I enquired about selling on ebay and was told I need a credit card to set up the account. Drive me insane.. seems you need a credit card for everything these days. I don't have one and don't want one. Errr.

The last thing I bought was a sliver bracelet at a Pawn shop for 15 bucks.
Think you are poor? I am doing my laundry in the sink at the dorm because I don't have a dollar for the washing machine.

I thought they said life would get better if I went to school.

Good thing I grew up in the trailer park, or I might not know the secret of opening the window and crunking the heat makes the clothes dry fast enough to go out tonight. (other people here have loot)

Karla, you can sell on eBay without a credit card. It's a pain, but you can fax in a copy of your driver's license and a couple bills with your current address. All they want is ID verification.

2Good, we could be doing laundry side by side. Only the big ol gas Morning Stove dries clothes nicely on top. lol

Erin, love ya and keep posting. We need you!!!!!

I used to sell books on Ebay and made a bit of money out of it. The packing and post office were the only pains in the you know what!

Now I only buy, but if I come up with a new source of items to sell, I'll be back LOL

WOW.. this is interesting info about ebay.. the day I was looking into it I asked to talk to an on-line representative and I actually talked to two of them trying to find a way around needing a credit card and I was told flat out there was no other way.

Crash if you can tell me where I can go to deal with this and fax them information I would be forever in your debt. I have been looking for a way to make money from home so I can be with my kids and this would be so great. I so love working with flowers and things and I think this would be great. Ty for any help you can give me.

Ummm... cranking heat to dry clothes.. I would personally say the heating bill would be scarey.. i hope you are using someone elses heat to do it.
