I can imagine myself turning 
in the face if a shop asstistant called me that
This reminds me....when I was pregnant I showed very quickly being so small. So at 5 1/2 weeks nothing fitted me anymore. To make a long story short I went to a maternity shop, dont forget early days and still trying to accept that Im going through a change in my body, and as soon as the girl in the shop looked at me she said 4 months??? Beleive me, I dont know if it was hormones or what, but it got me soooo angry. Mum jumped in and saved her face
Now I can laugh about it but back then it felt like an insult!!! I must have been messed up in the head back then

maybe he is in a bad mood, as he knows he won't have anyone to do his sergeant major impression on and tell what to do for 4 weeks.
Maybe he feels that there still is work to be done and that it will have to wait till September?

stand in a line for 2 hrs ..... get to cashier at bank... 3 mins b4 they clock off for the day ... u get to counter and they know good and well 3 mins till they off and the pull the blind down in ur face with that "oh sorry didnt see u there" expression on thier face ... GAHHHHH ! that is so aggrivating lol makes me wanna insert someone into the card slot of a cash machine!!

Anzi that is following customer service attitude even though they dont know you.
What irritates me most when entering a shop is the sales assistant follows every step i make. I can understand it must be their policy but i work as a sales person myself & definitely will never do something like that.
Whereas in some of the U.K. shops you're addressed as 'My Pet'. That irritates me too as if they seem to own you.
