Oh well, glad you enjoyed your cruise and it's good that you are back to work instead of patrolling the streets scaring all those poor illegal immigrants!

By the way I'm really shocked about the crime wave and frightening incidents with these new boat people - there is probably no easy solution, but if Malta is considered to be an easy target to run out of fuel within 50 miles or so something MUST be done about it before former law-abiding citizens start taking matters into their own hands and end up becoming criminals themselves!

Malta can do with the odd noble knight to inject some new genes into the island, but you need quality not quantity......and to be able to choose who you allow in rather than to be forced to accept people you don't want.

I don't think neighbouring north African states such as Libya have been helping either; they often leave it to the Maltese forces to rescue sinking vessels when people are drowning nearer the Libyan coast than to Malta.

I guess these problems are what we elect politicians to sort out; if they don't react to the genuine concerns of public opinion and the facts then they risk not being re-elected.

Enforced immediate repatriation is the only way to send a clear message 'Don't come here!' I do feel very sorry though for decent individuals who are trying desperately to escape to a better life, but I guess 'charity begins at home' and Malta needs to look after the needs of Maltese people first.
