personally Pete, I have found today to be pretty refreshing due mainly to Gillys efforts - for the two days before I was looking in but not posting because people hardly had a civil word to say to each other - it was horrible - today has been very refreshing

Just my own opinion, and like Pete, with the hopes that I won't sound controversial, I think that his topics belong to a blogsite that first and foremost hosts social, political and environmental issues, not necessarily "dating"
There is an "optimum" platform and "audience" for every topic to be discussed. One just has to look for it.

Well, as I said its a free site. People are free to choose what level of participation they care to provide. I'm all for serious topics, but lately, its all about who can berate who most effectively. I'll stick to light threads over controversy and confrontation...I get paid to deal with those types of situations...I don't seek them out gratis...

thanks for your view Dizzy... having a 'go' at an individaul is not the case as pointed out quite clearly in my opening post! The thread is relating to 'mass posting' of topics by an individual and as Gilly is the person who regulary does this I felt it within reason to mention his name!

Stating a persons name as a case in point is not the same as a personal attack...unless Pete also says he thinks Gilly's breath stinks, he's merely using his name in this fashion.

I also agree with you my friend! CS has the facility for the posting of blogs... where people are free to comment but would leave the general thread page open to all who wish to post threads and expect them to stay in view long enough to get a reasonable amount of replies.
I can't see there is any benefit to anyone when someone mass posts except maybe to the person who is filling the page with their threads!

My view is that although some good points are raised by the above gentleman and I also find him quite likeable, I have seen some rather important topics sink that were probably quite important to the originator!
Many of us do not bother to go to page two, three of four to see what we have missed and tend to hang about at the top of page one! I also feel it a better class of thread if the person has a genuine interest in the topic he/she is posting!
As already mentioned, I am in no way trying to be controversial and also am not writing this as an attack in any form to gilly himself... I just found myself trawling a long list of threads by one person, and was missing the usual diversity and humour that the many different members here on CS bring to the forums.
