Dear W/W , I think there is a solution . A daily Doz. of female hormone taken by all male politicians could benefit human kind in a positive way . Such therapy is already in use in a big way . In farming most male animals prepared for human consumption are injected with female hormones to improve the quality of their meat , and to improve their temper . These hormones also prevent aggression , handling becomes much easier and in general their mothering qualities are magnified .
Adverse reaction would be growth of mammary glands , loss of facial hair , change of voice and a few other .
Such a small price for a more peaceful, more loving and more caring human society ..
Would it not better to see Binladin and Bush in love than fighting ? Would it not be more exiting to see Hammas and Israeli solders holding hand wearing suspenders and fishnet stockings ?

Mankind cannot solve or prevent the problems you list. We cannot prevent famine, floods or earthquakes. Natural disasters are uncontrollable forces of nature.
A World government would also not be the solution. If there was a World government, we wouldn't like it. Look at the most successful governments in history that spanned even a large portion of the World. We have the existing nations of Russia, China, Canada and the US. All of these countries have some sort of internal problems, whether it is corruption, organized crime, poverty or human rights abuses. The same existed in the Roman Empire, Persian Empire and all great empires of History. The phrase "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" comes to mind.
You would need a selfless, strong and intelligent leader to rule the world. The only person who ever would meet the standard required is Jesus Christ, and the bible predicts that he will return to rule the World. Before that occurs, this World will always have suffering.

nelson; i know mankind cant do anything about the natural disaster's that befall our planet; but they have been the main cause of global warming greed and wars; the british empire ruled ove 2/3 of the world teaching it a better way of life they professed while raping the contries of their wealth and taking more than they gave; today the usa tries to police the world with a big stick and a cowboy for a leader hope you are right and jc will come and sort it out and soon

There were allways catastrophes in nature,but for the real mess in our world, nature is not responsible.Its just men's work. So how do you expect a government,whoever they are could change things?

Nature does possess Fire and Water, and gets out of control when interferred with by people who cut down all the trees that should hold the water back, and destroy the Mangrove Swamps and Wetlands, so that hurricanes and tsunamis and things can have free and easy access to the land, which in any case is over-populated, so Nature is just actually trying very hard to sort things out ... but the Bleeding Hearts of Humans think they gotta cover every sq.cm of land with their off-spring.....
.... and now some folk are even considering taking over Another Planet... and continuing the process..... whooo wheee, but we supposed to be some sort of intelligence?

the other planet is just invading other countries for their gold, silver, diamonts, oil and other resources up till today - so much to the virtues done in the name of christianity

On fact, when the Catholic Church went rampaging in the name of Christ, the True Christians hid out in the mountains, and they have even to now remained a quiet secretive organisation ... they do not attend formal churches and they never identify themselves to outsiders ... they are only recognisable by their Actions..... called "Deeds". Anyone claiming to be a Christian you should be very wary of, do not trust them. A True Christian needs never to claim themselves a Title.

surly is it not better to believe in what you believe in ? and love and be at peace with one another; my god is within me not in some gold filled ornate building that would be beter used to house the poor and homeless and the land all the churches own ; if possible sow and grow and reap food for the poor and needy with the vicars priests etc doing the manual labour would they do it i fear not it would make them equal to normal people;so people would no longer fear them or be in awe of them; i think people may even admire them;

Book-learned and knowledgable people who are secure in themselves and without any fears do not need Christianity. Only those mentioned in the Beatitudes need re-assurances and these are the people whom the Christ was trying to reach, for they were/are the shunned who are desperate for something to hold onto ... "under the weight of poverty and the horrors of our iniquitious system..".....
