I don't understand why it is so hard to believe that we are not the only life form in the universe. It is egotystical to think that Earth is the only planet of inhabitation.........
It's funny....or odd, I might say, that people are quick to believe in god, a form they can not see...touch...feel....etc....by faith they believe, but when it comes to life beyond this planet, they dismiss and think those of us who do believe are insane.
There have been far too many sightings to dismiss the idea.....It all goes back to thinking outside the box.....once you allow yourself to consider the possibilities....you're half way there.

Gang, this is a fascinating thread. One of the best I've seen yet. And, I've been intrigued by the question for as long as I can remember. Read and seen many, many documentaries on it.
Have never actually seen anything, but have certainly read a lot. I BELIEVE. NO ONE HAS EVER SHOWN MY WHY I SHOULD NOT BELIEVE. Actually, some have shown me why TO believe.
The posts are so interesting that I have to go back over them and re-read before I remark.
And, I am impressed by the respect being shown by the posters. This makes me feel good. I will be back.
The answer is out there somewhere...and, now that years have gone by and some of the actual witnesses with proof are no longer intimidated by the powers that be, I'm confident that the truth will emerge -( AGAIN), along with the necessary proof.

Around 20 years ago there was an incident of strange lights that could be seen from Missouri , Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma one evening. Tulsa news had it on the news that evening because they had reports from police and many people around the area. And one small town policeman in oklahoma got fired that night over his report he made because he had encountered something on the ground, thats all I know of it. I never could find out the rest of the story.

It is said, at least in my country, that they choose you, they choose who can see them for some reason, but actually the're everywhere, and again I invite you to find any book by Sixto Paz,, he is known worldwide to be the person who knows and has experiences more about this subject.

Education not only comes from the collegic level....that is only a portion of what a true "educated" person is. Education is the ability to apply what one has learned into the every day functions of life. One can be so trapped within the confines of formal education, that they do not have the ability to see beyond that spectrum.....they rely soley upon what is written in text and don't explore the possibilities of what else may exist beyond that point.

Again, it's not about believing or being egoistical at all. It's about facts and mathematical statistics. Despite the size of the universe the odds for more intelligent life is very slim and basically non-existent for it to be able to travel to our planet, if it actually did exist. Distances and physics make this all but impossible.
I agree with your second paragraph. Believing in God is no different. His existence is just as unlikely.
Seeing things and thinking outside the box are meaningless if you don't have real scientific evidence. Especially with your last sentence you are pushing too much across the gap between fact and fiction just to have a reason to believe.
