Scenario.

You meet someone. They don't want a relationship. You have fallen in love.

Would you stay friends with them?

Yeah I would Karen, perhaps its just love as apposed to being in love, and besides the fact one is your friend before they are your lover,or should be,so why would one want to lose a good thing.

For me personally----yes i would- even though i was in love with them and it was not mutual- i also would love them as a friend and would not want to not have them in my life.

Friendship? Love? Aren't they imcompatible? lol..........why FALL in love - is it a disease? Maybe the falling in love isn't friendly and more like lust.......... but if you love somebody, you can be friends I guess (once you're old and past the relationship bit it gets easier!).

Being serious, I guess you have to know WHY they don't want a relationship......... if they are hurt from the past maybe they need you as a friend to regain trust in humanity.

However, if they don't want a realtionship specifically with 'YOU' (not you, karen, but the theortical 'you', ok?) because your breath stinks or you're really ugly or your personality makes them want to puke I guess it would be time to move on!¬

Hi Karen.. I met a man once and fell in love with him... he didnt want a relationship (and not with just me but any woman) and we remained friends. I'm not sure where I'd be without him right now and I am so thankful to God that I did say yes to his friendship...wise decision on my part!

True friends are there for you no matter what, the rest disappear at some point or another...

Hence, my reluctance to fall in love at all.

I always end up being "the friend"...

I hate the friend zone...I'd rather drown in cheez-wiz...very mad

It's not a matter of right or wrong, its what's best for you...

If they can't understand that, then, really, there isn't a relationship anyway...Regardless of whether they want one or not...Just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it true, no matter how much you wish it was...

I'd have a hard time with that one. I'd have to distance myself from that situation for a while before even considering it. I mean if I was in love with him, I'd have to get pass that first. I don't see that happening by remaining friends. Then maybe.

after the initial blow....yeah.....if I can remain friends with my ex husband, I can be friends with an "almost" relationship

it just takes a min to freshen up a bit and realise life is like a box of chocolates.....rolling on the floor laughing
