why is it that people can't just agree to disagree..Everyone has there own oppinion's and views on thing...doesn't make them any less of a person for the way they believe it makes them who they are...JMOpeace

i am also open to what other people think, and wish more people would agree to disagree instead of forcing their opinions down other peoples throat or presenting their opinions as fact when it is clearly not the case.

and my anti-ego is the reason i am biting my tongue hard after a few certain posts on cs lately!!

Oh you betcha..........if we dont allow someone else to be a free thinker and express their own views we all become one dimensional in our own views and belief..........that is why we have feet and hands.......

I strongly beliave that people can actually evolve during a discussion. That's why i always hang out, relax and have discussions with my friends in real life. But even with my friends, who know my personality well, i try to make novel thoughts about an issue and reconsider it from the beggining. But many people don't actually understand this. That in life they should not just PRESENT who they are but they must be ready to reconsider their beliefs during a discussion...And also another thing....Most threads begin with a question. I camwe to realize that the key to a meaningful discussion is asking thew right question and start from there.

Because it depends what the subject is..surely that is uppermost of importance.

Imagine someone prefers cats to dogs.
Then:
Imagine someone comes on and says "They agree with peodaphilia"
Are we as a society supposed to agree or agree to disagree.

The problem is ..where between the two do we as a society or as individuals, make a stand.

Who is going to draw this line for us all..(NOT ME,,thats for sure)

I don't agree at all with pedophelia and don't support those that do...I understand that you are useing this as an example..I am just talking about things we talk about on here...I have read a few threads that were nothing but arguments and don't understand that...people seem to have a hard time thinking that someone else may be more understanding of some things and accept there opinion...don't mean they have to agree with it....but why start a conversation if your oppinion is the only one you are willing to hear...does that make sense...things don't always come out the way I intend for them to...

I usually make note of who is always participating.
When they visit a thread of mine, I let them have their say and be on their way...

I try not to engage in any conversational exchange with them because history has shown no matter how they first appear its going to go sour...

But I too sometimes get drawn in.

I always try to use words like "they" "them" "their" "us" and "we" i make it a point to do this. just so no way can an opinion of mine be taken as being a personally directed response towards anyone individual.
