Are you describing roads in Malta?... or South Africa? Sounds like home to me!

I have this rather substantiated theory that when the polititians find enough money in the public coffers to re-do the roads ..... they celebrate ... and end up spending all the road money on the party?

Love it! Sounds like every cheap 2 bit town that I've ever driven in, minus one scenario seen in a few places at various stages of ..."action/ performance": Road sign "Men At Work"( English, Spanish, Portuguese...) an old mattress over by the ditch, or even an old rusted iron bed and mattress, either with a member of the road crew and a woman on it...or just the clothing of a man and some women's lingerie fluttering in the breeze...Mission Accomplished %D

Hi All,
I really do think that it's a good thing that they are fixing so many roads now. But, you've got to question why they feel the need to dig them up, no less than a week later!!! Did they bury a worker alive, who was asleep on the job!!!! hehehe

Nice description of Canadian traffic so far :-). But one exception I have not seen here in Malta: You drive a 2 lane road with one! car in front of you and no other car around. Then this adventures car breaks down to a halt - in front of a green traffic light --- every green traffic light.

Or, you try to cross a street as pedestrian at a coner where the cars do right turns at red. Thanks to my jumping abilities I survived.

Well, when thinking about it, live of a pedestrian is much more in danger here. Just try to cross the street at the roundabout from regional street to Paceville.

rolling on the floor laughing sounds like Andalucia if you add Pedestrians crossing the roads at turtle speed.rolling on the floor laughing

Oh: Sorry I am a biker but eating up traffic in the fast lane on ofter another really is no fun! Passing on the empty slow lane at 250+ is much funnier!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Sounds so much familiar, except that we drive on the right side of the road and have no mounted police... laugh
Yet driving in Lithuania can be a paradise compared to what we see in some other countries of Eastern Europe (I will not name any. of course)! uh oh
