Change is always nervewracking and feeling scared is a normal reaction. I have done it twice. leaving home and coming back home 24 years later.
Both times I felt unaccountably depressed six months later and then was just fine two weeks after that.Just in case you suddenly feel down six months into it. I think it is an adjustment thing.

I guess it depends on what southern parts you look in
But you'll be fine, you have the drive and determination to do well, your daughter being there will only make life more comfortable for you, having someone familiar round you etc........you'll be nervous at first but hey we've all been nervous at one time or the other

Good luck to you, but it does get very hot in Florida, and humid. Rains a lot too. Watch out for lightening when the weather is bad..

Really bad lightening? Like stay inside away from the windows type lightening? Gets humid in NY also. That won't bother me.
