classicrockgirlInverness, Florida USA12 Threads 2,414 PostsI am moving to Florida in three weeks with nothing but my daughter and our clothes. I have family there. I am excited but also nervous. I have been at my present job for 20yrs. I know I will have no problem finding a new one with my experience.Just feel like I need a new start. Just wanted to know if anyone else has done this and has it worked out ok?

I quit my stable, steady job and decided to change my whole profession at 35 years old. I entered healthcare and while it's been a scary transition I wouldn't change a thing. We tend to regret the things we don't do and I wish you all the luck, success and happiness possible as you start your new life in FL!

I'm in Florida......just a short distance from Inverness.....I packed up and left (but family came with me) just 6 years ago.
I found new work, new friends, new home, new everybody in my life except 3 family members ......and, I love it. My friends back home thought I was crazy to make such a drastic move at my age.....but, I knew it was going to be worth it.
Haven't had an arthritis pain since I got here!
You'll do fine....and if ya need encouragement, just email me and we'll talk on the phone.

The pay scale is pretty low, but the weather makes up for it.....as long as you have air conditioning, especially in the summer!
