In the depths of this earth,
I know of a herb
That bestows oblivion
to hearts fragmented into millions

If you find it, oh if you do,
please I beg of you
Grant its gifts upon my soul
All that I love are forever lost.

Manolito, if you know of a herb that bestows oblivion, go and get it and plant it in your garden. You can then cut a piece every day and remain in oblivion forever. I think the name of the herb is called marjuana. You can find it anywhere, but you can buy it from shops in some countries.

Dear Mano , It is hard to find someone who clicks with you straight away . The less the expectation the easier it gets to settle with another . Meanwhile it helps to talk , to listen and to take advantage of the experience of those whom have already been through it all .. Value people for what they do and not for what they say they will do . Enjoy what pleases you and be ready to forget it when it is not there . Hearts are precious keep yours safe

Damian, thanks for the kind words, but i should let you know that the above 2 verses are just a part of a bigger poem i wrote that talks about loss and redemption & forgiveness.

I dont usually post on these forums, but that little bit, it felt like posting itself. Nevertheless, i agree with everything you wrote.

If only feelings had anything to do with reason...

Hi Mano,

Thanks for posting that:....must say, for a minute I thought it was a new riddle thread! blushing laugh

Reading through the other posts: Agree with what you said 100 percent. Feelings have no reason, neither logic.

Manolito - you're a poet!

All thinking people have a stab at writing morbid poetry at some time in their lives; maybe I should write one about my brother entitled 'What a way to go!'

Tonight I think I'll have a drink
My daughter's getting married on the morrow
Will be a time for joy not sorrow
Yet she's marrying a Frenchman - oh how 'yuck'
I'll have another drink, oh f**k......

Oh drink, my opiate
My one true friend
Dull the pain within my hollow soul

Oh dear
I do not feel well
Time to ring the final bell

Friends have taken me home
I feel quite sick
Someone call the doctor - quick!

Too late........
I shall not see my daughter wed
My heart fails, and now I'm dead.......

I hope this pathetic attempt at poetry conveys a sense of the triviality of life for some people - and that, for many, death can be a release from a life that isn't exactly full of love and warmth.

(My brother died Friday night 12th October just a few hours before his daughter got married on Saturday 13th October........... he drank too much, as usual, and died in a friend's arms after a heart attack - may he rest in peace and may his children have good memories of him)

Thank you for your condolences; I was sadly not reconciled with my brother before his death - my mother is obviously very upset, but I feel that he was not a very happy man (especially over the last three/four years) and that a heart attack was maybe a kind way to go......he wasn't the type to go and kill himself.

Families have always had their ups and downs; in this day and age many live far apart in different countries let alone on different continents - it is both easier these days to drift apart, and yet also so much easier to stay in touch via the telephone, the internet and cheaper flights (in real terms compared to a few decades ago).

One thought regarding dating and marriage; when a relationship fails your family is still there for you - if you are lucky enough to have a supportive family!

well, when my relationship failed, i left my family... and my country. So i no longer have this (indeed) luxury at my disposal whenever something goes wrong. Instead, i have you guys and my poems :p

Last time i talked to my mother, she asked my if i had found happiness. I said "Yes, i found it. It was graffity style written on a wall right across my house, i see happiness everyday now!"

rolling on the floor laughing At least i still have my sense of humor with me applause
