Great poem Bodhi. But the politics that follow are crass.
Our politics are a wild goose chase. Neither party is worth a tin of beans. I you want to have your say don't vote. Just imagine if the whole country failed to vote.
Each party has a zealot at the fore front. And each leader is a puppet of the corporations, Committees, and Money lenders.
If one wants to make a difference then one needs to stand. If you refuse to stand then you can't make a difference.
Casting a vote in the status qou changes nothing for lower class man.
It will still remain a different day same sh....
