QUEBEC - Police and youth-protection officials are investigating after a passerby spotted a seven-month-old child alone in a car in Quebec City.
The baby's parents were found soon after as they attended a play in a nearby theatre on Sunday night.
Police say the father became aggressive, insulted them and told them it wasn't the first time he had done such a thing.
The parents were fined $400.
The child showed no signs of hypothermia despite the cool weather. Parents of the year NOT. It is beyond me to understand how anyone could think that this is acceptable.
About 20 years ago here where I live in the UK.. Cornwall a summer tourist *hot spot*..
A couple left their 8wk old baby in the car and went for a walk..
It was a BOILING Hot day.. When they came back the baby was dead.
I remember reading in the paper that even an hour after the baby had died, its body temp was through the roof!
I'm so against anything like that.. even pets. And I honestly would have no hesitation in smashing the window of someone's car is if an animal was in difficulty with the heat.
And I'd be straight on the phone to the police if it were a child, left alone for any length of time.
