I have a facebook account because my son asked me to be his friend. Now I use it to tag my family with little notes and idle chit chat from time to time.
It is a bit juvinile, but my boy likes it, and likes to race his fluff pet Penji, against my Gribbon.

I use it only to share pictures with my friends living in the outposts of world.
Strange!!! That seems to be what South Africans do - find an exotic place as far away from Thabo Mbeki as they can possibly manage and then keep up their friendships with Facebook, Skype and Yahoo.

I joined, because my daughter asked me to. Otherwise I don't pay any attention to it. It was just a fun thing for my daughter and I to do together. Otherwise I am a skype fan.

I have been contacted by some old friends from high school, some I haven't seen for 25 yrs so that was very cool. I don't participate in the goofy applications but it is good to run into old friends for sure.
