Called you a pretty girl cos you are and cos CS says you are. How about I pay for mine and you pay for yours, seems fair to me.

Yes I agree, if its the beginning of a dating process with someone and we both earn a living, going halves is always a fair option. I always paid my rounds of drinks when going out with a guy.....always. The worst thing I hate is someone to be a sponger!

I had an 8 yr relationship, living together, and that's how he wanted our finances. We both work we pay half each for everything. The problem was... when I earned more money I used to save up and spend the money for both of us like going for a holiday, whereas when he earned more than me because he worked overtime, I was the one doing all the housework and looking after our baby and getting NOTHING extra for it! That's what wasn't fair. Life teaches you doesn't it!

You sound like you in pain! My guess is that you are one of those realy realy nice guys .... the type that almost always choose the wrong women ... and the realy nice women who would love to get to know you, dont stand a chance - because you keep choosing the Those Others, who give you a difficult time?
... and you end up getting hurt.

When a person lumps a gender of people as "you lot" - and then proceeds go generalise to the effect that "every man knows that any woman can have any man she wants" and wishes the reverse was true ... means only that that person has been deeply wounded, and is hitting out.

I know there are females who take guys for what they can get, and the reverse is also true ... that`s life.... like scum on the ocean... but there is a lot of clean water, if you just learn to scoop the scum out of the way.

By the way, for a guy who is toasting hs woman free singledom, you doing okay huh, being on a Singles Site?...What you looking for here? Yes, I know, you have not given up ... Yet.... Just like the rest of us.

Me ..... I should have given up years ago.... But I have this mission that drives me to see if there is One Single Honest Decent Man in the Universe .... who will pay for the Dinner.

wave Hi Smoky honey!...yes, I loved every word you'd said here..all true, real and to the point...topped with your absolutely fabulous ways to present it! and I just finished reading this partucular thread.
Wanna know WHAT took me so long reading this particular thread?!
It made me stop at some posts here, take a deep breath and... compare european men vs american men...yeps, in the ways they think and act. Of course, it's a generalization only...completely aware of that...all based on a very few members of this site who made their opinions heard.
Not going to make a big speech...over NOTHING....as at first, I honestly thought there will be no discussions at all here...Surprise surpriselaugh...seems like IT'S!! a big deal...
Well, I mean I'm truly! speechless now confused...had no idea this problem exist...somewhere. Why men who don't intend on paying for a dinner on a date...just choose instead to sit on their couches/lazy boy chairs at home watching some sports..or whatever?!...Why would they even bother to invite then?..at first place...sorry, but it's kinda of a miracle to me...or a puzzle....and I'm not kidding.

No, haven't had a single date in my life...where a guy would let me to pay for a meal...so, sorry...really have nothing to add to this "subject" or "discussion"....Whoever wants to take a part in it - may continue....
To you Smoky and all girls here hug kiss
sigh<---- and this is me as of right this moment!

Hi Awesome, Yeah me too, so I just take it this is something rather new that we disussing here. Actually, the very first time in my entire life that this happened was here in CH! I got invited to go to a special place, and afterwards for dinner, nd when we got there, boyo holds his francs waving it about in the air and pointedly looking at the admission price list, making sure I see he is paying for only himself, so I pay for myself. (Actually this particular facility I was invited to is inferior to the one I frequent nearer my home, but I was invited, and accepted).

Then afterwards, "dinner" is at a roadside diner, but hey I`m easy going and don`t mind .....I`m asked what I would like .... and again his 6 bucks is waved in the air, I thought he was cooling himself with it, till he said "Hey, I got my 6 bucks for mine, hey" .... So I got the message, and paid for my own.

So then I paid to fill his car tank to take me home.

.. and you know the feeling I got? What a loser, what a dope... no charisma, no balls, I would rather sit at home and knit a 5m scarf than try and look interested in a scrunge like that.... or rake leaves.

So for 26 bucks the guy can`t pay for what he invites a person to .... I still trying to figure out what exactly that was? Was it supposed to be a date?dunno

From then on I always tried to pay for my own, with other guys, and they absolutely refused....That first one must have been some sort of odd-ball?

Men I`ve gone out with here usually join in family things at my home, and they get well fed, the beer crates are always well stocked, we have a good wine cellar .... so maybe it`s just that some guys simply have no class, or something?... to nit pick over a few bucks.....?

Oops, sorry Smoky..posted and then looked up, and realized that being somewhat under "shock"laugh...I missed your question to me: No, I don't remember the early days here...joined this site somewhere in the late August of this year...would enjoy tremendously in going back and reading your early postings, that would give me extra amounts of laughs, for sure! but still have to find time for it. So much happening NOW uh oh laugh...hard to keep up even with the latest "news".
I'm just observing at this point...having lots of funbatting...making friends.
Wedy disappeared....noticed that too, as he didn't post for a long time. Maybe we should inquire about him in "Who's been missed here lately"?...or maybe his pc finally broke dunno...saw couple of his posts with complaints about it..Woman?...yeah, could be the case as well...If so, good for him and we all hope he's happily entertained!
and will come back when he's got a minute and let us know.

people of earth, do not be afraid. We come in peace!

Okay folks...fashion police. We all have to dress up in grey and black shoes. No more slinky dresses and no more Bermuda shorts. Obey my order or be prepared to be taken on to the mother ship.

Sorry Smoky for your few unpleasant experiences with men...Sounds awful!!! and was painful to even read...can feel how you felt back then.....sorry..
No class losers unfortunately do exist in this world...what can you do about it?!...just avoiding them at any costs...Bad part is that these types kinda spoil it for all other normal true gentlemen out there....as they lower our opinion and respect for masculine half of this world.
I for one enjoy being a woman (with all the responsibilities and routine duties it involves)...and need a MAN not some emotionally damaged basket case whining and calculating who pays for what..comparing what he's got to what I got, how does he live to how I live....Woman-man, cat-dog..I don't mix genders...everyone is good at what they do best.

Ok, better stop myself....Here wine to true men...lots of them!!!

First Demand

If you asked a person a question and he answered,

"How long is a piece of string?"

What would you say?

Ok Smoky, been away, missed this one.

One;we are all in pain, that,s what it is to be alive.

Two; me looking for someone? Ok, that means you haven,t read my profile which states"....I,m not looking anybody...." I,m on this sight cos I enjoy it. I,m really not that narrow as to believe I will meet the woman of all my drwams here, though I have met some very, very nice people (Flor, Awesome Choice, Giovanni, Lagoona,Rusty Knight and yes Brainy too with whom I am in email contact,ok?

The you lot bit? Tongue in cheek and there are people here including your good self, who have used the self same reflexive pronoun in a self referential manner.

There are a great many decent, single, honest men (not Rusty Knight, cos he,s a decent, honest spoken for man) Maybe you should stop looking for perfection, especially when (like most of the rest of us mere mortals)you are unable to offer it yourself.peace
