What i do .. is try to explain first ... then next time try to show i dont intend to be mean .. i am concerned .. and the last time .. i take action..
Grounded they r !! to get what u want u need to straighten your ways..
well.. usually that works..

the teenagers at my place are so crazy ... if i were to dance on thier beds.. take away their things... cancel their outings .... or even get strange creatures in to their room. ..mind you.. i am the one being laughed at...

Its like .. if we r supposed to be as smart as you ... we prefer being stupid !!!!!

how old is he...I have 2 teenage son's..olest is almost 19 and youngest is 17...I have no problem telling them either my way or the highway...If you are going to live under my roof it will be by my rules not theres..JMO

Get a chair sit real close to his bed and stare at him. Teenagers Are paranoid and hate being stared at it will freak him out .When he get up continue to do this untill he complies

ohh i agree.... but u see it doesnt work.. my little brother .. laughs his heart out when i give the scary stare......... and give me the D'oh look....

No you don't stare at looking mean just sit there with a passive look. They wonder what you doing it freaks them out. I have worked with teenagers it works

You could always put the toaster in bed with him

Now that is inventive!

Sit down with him and make a list of "chores". Tell him that what he does in his bedroom is alright with you, besides leaving plates, coffee cups or whatever there to dry out that you can't even clean them with steel wool. Tell him that the kitchen and the rest of the house has to be shared by the both of you.

Ask him if he wouldn't mind doing his share around the house and when it comes to the kitchen and utensils, well that is a different story. Tell him of the bacteria etc that will come creeping in otherwise and that it's only hygienic to clean the kitchen and the utensils after one has used anything.

I was wondering how old your son is, is he at school or in bed because he can't find a job. Robbie you have to help him along the way. Being there done that.

Don't ground him or else he'll just get smart and give you a big mouth. Tell him how proud of him you are when you notice some change in him. If all that fails then you can get tough on him. How is up to you.

I never punished my kids because there was nothing I could punish them with.

To a teenager, bed is sanctuary...put whatever mess they make in the bed. Scrape the crud from the sandwich maker on his sheets. If he makes more messes, do the same with them.

First off, Good morning everyone.

Now, my father would set a pack of firecrackers off in a large pot and get us out of bed if we slept in or were in trouble.

First order, clean the whole kitchen. Everything even if it is not dirty. Empty cabinets and clean contents, line shelves with fresh paper.

Or you could really hit a teenager where it hurts most. Take the phone, or car keys away until the respect of your things returns to him.
