thanks for the input. i'm more concerned with the money it'd save me tbh. i do tend to run up the miles on a weekly basis and from what i remember lpg cost less than half what unleaded petrol does. i just worked out if it's gonna cost me 1650 pounds for the conversion then it'll have paid for itself within a year
the fuel cost is comparable...here anyways... you have to spend for the conversion of course, and then there are periodic inspections too...so occasionally there are upgrades that must be done to comply. but the tank is usually bigger on a LPG vehicle and so to fill it costs as much! if not more! although you may travel farther on a full tank too. The fuel savings may be more significant over there...maybe ask some who has tried it there. I can recommed it...bottom line.

My attempt at starting the thread was to help everyone better appreciate what others are having to pay. In the thread there was a note about the difference in the USD and Euro as well as the Pound. I apologize that I didn't mention the gallon versus the liter...but it seemed that everyone understood and converted easily enough.
i think we've all done the conversions over the last couple of days and come to the conclusion that the brits are being ripped off the most - as usual. good thread though, fuel costs are always a topic of interest (particularly atm). dunno if u saw the earlier ones but here's a url i was given that might be of some interest. wish we had something like this in the uk.
you only have to look at the profits of the oil companies to realize that there is price gouging taking place. In Canada we have a group that 'monitors' gas pricing to ensure that gouging does not take place....what a joke! I'm not sure how much profit there is for all parties for a one cent a litre increase but it has to be in the millions of dollars PER DAY. This is the reason for Canada's budget surplus last year of 11 Billion? maybe more... you and I are paying for it slowly but surely....
dunno about you guys but in the uk the oil industry aren't the ones to blame for the extortionate prices, it's the gvnment who slap 85% tax on the fuel.
