I tried the hint of leaving her washing, till the pile was so high that the cats used it as a walkway to get to the top of the wardrobe.
I tried starving to see if she might think about using the new kitchen.
I discovered she was so stubborn refusing to do anything, (for herself....not for me i might add) that my quality of life was eroded to the point even my cats got depressed.
Some people i guess like a doormat, fortunately now nobody mses my back as a place to clean their new shoes.
Ahhh, but Robbie, you contradict yourself... "I tried starving to see if she might think about using the new kitchen", soon followed by "for herself...not for me, I might add". Hmmmm..."starving" for her??? Giving up your crust of bread so that she might eat??? Somehow, I'm just not buying it.
But...when your quality of life is eroded, as you said, then it is time to move on. Your life should be enhanced by the presence of your partner or loved one, not eroded. So it sounds as if you made the right choice.
