I hate semolina/cous cous.....and some kinds of shellfish. Liver and bacon is delicious though....especially with onions and that lovely gravy!!! mmmmm
I'd like to make you a sourbratten with a nice venison roast and red cabbage and mashed potatoes that would make your tongue slap your brains out. Maybe that deer steak you ate WAS spoiled.
Anyway, I was 20 and working in a gas station in the Bronx when I went to this little Italian restaurant for lunch and ordered spaghetti with calamari sauce. I should have known when the waitress said "Are you sure?" YUK!
I love liver btw! But keep the Okra far away from me.
I ate sushi once on a promise if my then mate would eat some Hungarian blood sausage. She did, and I did. YUK!
i met this aussie guy in asia and we went out and we came across some balut.
i couldn't stomach it at all but he did and said it was ok.
it wasn't pretty to watch.
i checked on wikipedia and they said it is used on reality shows such as fear factor. and also had the following info -
They are considered delicacies of Asia and especially the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors at night in the regions where they are available. They are often served with beer. The Filipino and Malay word balut (balot) roughly translates to mean "wrapped".
its probably easy to prepare and goes well with beer - probably worth another look.
