23. You are excited whenever an American television show mentions Canada. You make a mental note to talk about it at work the next day.

24. Pet stores, even now, bring back fond memories of Hammy the Hamster.

25. You can do all the hand actions to Sharon, Lois and Bram's
"Skin-a-ma-rinky-dinky-doo" opus.

26. You can eat more than one maple sugar candy without feeling nauseous.

27. You wonder idly if there is some government coverup of a covert
operation behind shifting the shooting location of "X Files" from British
Columbia to California, but you're far too apathetic to do anything about
it anyway, though it was nice seeing some of the old "Beachcombers" cast getting some TV work now and then.

28. You wonder how the hell JD Roberts moved from MuchMusic VJ to national anchor for CBS.

29. You know that a "Premier" isn't a baby born a few weeks early.

30. You read rather than scanned this list.

Just a couple points of correction:

War of 1812...yes Washington DC was burned. But Andy Jackson kicked butt so badly in New Orleans, we made a song of it. Singing of
Red Coats fleeing like jack rabbits through the marches and swamps.
The way I read it, you guys did not want to stay around after that.

Not that I am for such behavior today.

On the basketball inventor. I thought it was a American college professor that invented it. Not a 100% sure. Others have info?
If invented in Canada, it was prefected in French Lick, IN.
Do some homework to find out who grew up and lives there today.

Also lacross...was a North American Indian sport....both side of the border. Most Americans south of the border passed on the sport,
figuring anything the needed a racket was a racket.

Baseball glove. I did not know that. But again....having played against
Canadian baseball teams in the past. I would have have to say not
your strongest sport. But thanks for the mitt. Taking hot liners at third base would be tough with out them.

Large fields and one less down for a first down. Come on? Just means it is easier there to get a first down in Canada than here. Also a whole lot more punting.

Good thread with a lot of smiles.

cheers
