My conclusion is that if my date brought up the name 'nostradamus..nostrodamus' then he would go back home still hungry.

As the supreme being or God i believe in signifies empathy , kindness and peace for living a decent life with the need for each one to focus within to look for the answers they seek and progress to learn while living in harmony. But thats my personal view !
What annoys me is while we try to explore the possibilities in this kind of situation , there is a little one who might be paying the price !!
I know that all precautions are taken etc ... BUT , its still playing with natures course . Csections are the trend today. Again something which kind of makes me uneasy as the plus points of a normal delivery are many !!!

No clue Al .. I read it up while i was surfing couple of months back. There is a large amt of detail on this. Details which are quite intriguing if we consider when this man actually wrote them.

Diogenes. I am smart enough to know that you are implying my being shallow with that reply which i don't appreciate. I am thinking a smart man would also understand that there are millions of 'other' topics other human being would care to indulge in. It's called preference or taste!

what I find amazing is that there are texts now, apparently interpreted properly and I use that word loosely because I find it difficult to find translation myself, doesn't mean someone else can't. These texts are written in normal understandable english... not even close to the quatrains crypticness, so I wonder...money maker?

I saw a documentary on Discovery on prophecies yest and there was a lot on Nostradarmus !!
Apparently , his quartains were written by him as a mix of 4 languages as he feared that in his life he would be deemed of heresey quite contrary to his cordial relations with royalty and the church.
And that his Rose pill for plague was quite famous.
He apparently wrote almanacs and later took to the prophecies .

they were I imagine pretty scary times for someone dabbling in the metaphysical arts those days... AND it may be of interest that his works, like the bible and other aged books have been translated, edited, and reworked by so many that the original messeges become unclear.. then someone comes along and tries to rewrite them for profit ... not unheard of.

having birth charts and correct information is crucial. I wonder how he would have made out with todays computer software.

I watched a movie last night called 'NEXT' ... Nicolas Cage ... a man who could see 2 minutes into the future of his own life to know what was coming and one of the things that stuck with me throughout that movie was a phrase he used .."When you look at the future it changes, because you looked at it." great movie.

Good movie alright, but can somebody explain by what mechanism astrology is supposed to work ? Is it gravity or something and how this does affect people ? How does the fact that when it was invented most of the planets were not know about affect it ? Pluto wasn't discovered until about the 1930's was it ? And has since been reclassified as not being a planet. I'm afraid I'm very much a skeptic

To make exact time wise statements i wll have to look up.
Astrology some call as science and some as a type of psychic technique.It has been known to man since ancient civilisations as mentions are there all around.
Literally as in when todays " science " discovered planets , no it doesnt tally in time. But a lot of ancient knowledge is known to be valid and apparently they were far advanced than we are. Ex - Mayans!!
Astrology is based on the relationship the planets hold to each other in conformity with your time , date and place of birth to accurately calculate. Believing that planetary influences on our life existS. Based on this charts are drawn of supposed alignment of the planets at that point of time and then on as per the planetary cycles thro' out your life and thereby the outcomes are predicted.
This is a simple outline.
