BobBilly: Good movie alright, but can somebody explain by what mechanism astrology is supposed to work ? Is it gravity or something and how this does affect people ? How does the fact that when it was invented most of the planets were not know about affect it ? Pluto wasn't discovered until about the 1930's was it ? And has since been reclassified as not being a planet. I'm afraid I'm very much a skeptic

you're right pluto was a later discovery. the affect of planets in astrology are stronger the closer they are to the earth AND based on their rotation relative to earth, affect larger age groups of people because of their distance from us. Its all calculated on those rotations, the moon being the quickest of planets, then the sun, so on and so forth out toward pluto. Your birth chart is a compendium of where all planets from the sun on out and where they where at the time of birth.

Sun sign astrology is relatively useless without knowing a ton of other planet information garnered from your birth (information) chart. In fact , (I could be wrong about this), but some astrolgers in newspapers use the moon to make horoscopes, by relating the moons activity to your sun sign and how the two affect one another. Thats how it looks to me... I've never questioned one on this.

I was born by love, therefore I am.

Any prediction by any earth dweller is only words. Live your time and love lots is my only prediction.

st712: Are his predictions true?

Do they have any value in a society looking for answers?

no one can predict/see into the future....accept it man

... predicting is a little more difficult than seeing, but it can and does happen.

riyablossom:

This is a simple outline.

Thank you, RiyaBlossom. I have a good idea of how it's supposed to work, however I have yet to hear an explanation of the mechanism by which it does this.

I'm also very interested in finding out about any proper scientific studies into this as I don't believe correlation necessarily means causation. For example, I'm a Piscean and I would very much agree that I'm a typical Piscean as they're described. However, I also happen to be a damn good Taurus and several others too laugh
Also, I happen to have a pretty decent (laymans) knowledge of ancient civilisations and I'm afraid I know of no evidence that they were more advanced than us.

... off to do some research... wave

BnaturAl: Nostradamus was one of the early astrologers. He among other things predicted the moment of his death. Astrology is a very complex study and it is said that you if included the time it took him to learn to make predictions, that he spent about 2 years just to learn about that one split second when he would pass on. remove the time it took him to learn to make calculations and that time becomes about one hour. A lot of time spent still, to learn about one second of life. (death actually)

His books have been translated and read about as much as any major book has. When world events reach a crissis, such as 911, websites regarding Nostradamus and his predictions get more hits than you can shake a stick at.

Are his predictions true?

Do they have any value in a society looking for answers?

I JUST ORDERED A BOOK ON NOSTRADAMUS AND HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE, BUT WILL LET YOU KNOW AFTER I HAVE MORE RESEARCHED MORE.

of course you all know, Nostradamus predicted absolutely nothing. Every one of his predictions was discovered by reinterpreting one of his quatrains to make it fit into later events.

He did predict his own death, that event is recorded and corroberated as fact.

You're right about translations being skewed and made to fit after the fact, but i am hearing that this happened from a mix of language difficulties and those of translators. He was indeed cryptic but had to be to avoid people branding him a sorcerer or witch , because they were being killed at the time .. At least that is what was explained to me.

I am also hearing, yes only hearing so nothing factual that I found that there other predictions written in his own hand that were hidden to avoid the inquisitions of the time. Don't know for sure here.
