twinself: Whilst I'm sure the moderators have valid reasons for stopping it, I can't say I'm not disappointed.
For the ones who were not abusing it, it was fun..creative, and inspirational. I'm sure there are people who would back this up. Whilst I have nothing against dialogue, the threads are not always inspiring for me to post anything. And perhaps for some... they would rather simply express themselves by a picture.
I believe everyone is free to choose what to look at and what to post in. So I don't see why anyone would demand that they be taken off. They can simply just *skip* the Image threads. I do find some posts offensive and unethical...and hate the arguing and bickering too. But, I just stay away.... Image threads and dialogue threads are the same, both harmless, unless abused. There is no difference....

Apparently there was an explanation in the International Forum but I had a quick look, couldn't find it and couldn't be arsed to spend any more time searching.
Maybe we made the mistake of not giving credit to where we obtained the pics (as in quoting a source should we do the same with pics), then maybe if we had brands in pics we were abusing the CS policy of not promoting other sites etc, and then, as you said, some people went too far......but there were some wonderful pics and they can be a very useful addition in communicating an idea or mood or sharing something we like with others!

I couldn't find the Mod Thread in the Int'l either. Perhaps it was overlooked by the Mods advising us beforehand about what we could and couldn't post. (Taking into consideration copyright issues etc).
Anyway ...just my two cents.
To be honest, I miss the Image Threads. They were fun and sometimes did present a challenge to understand what the previous poster meant by his/her pic.
