BnaturAl: sis, you know we are all disabled in some way. some are just physical. limitations of looks and strength and education and mental capacity is what makes us all unique.
DUBLINGUY1973: It shouldn't depend but we both know a lot a people are uncomfortable with people with disabilities. I think people are afriad of what they don't know enough about so education is the key.....

We were all born upon this earth, some with abilities and others with more outright disabilities. We all have abilities and disabilities and no one is exempt of either.

We are all someone and count in this world.....

A casual observation of a disability isn't the same as interacting with anyone who has a visible disability or even one that isn't visible. Becoming familiar with anyone regardless of abilities and or disabilites takes time and certainly does require interaction.
Thats no different than interacting with anyone, you learn as you go, because you just don't know enough about the person and their abilities. I would add that personalities come into play as well , as does behavior toward one another, and yes some misconceptions as well.
If someone comes up and talks to us and we say "go away" in some way then there won't be much interaction let alone that chance to learn about each other.
There is most times an element of fear in any meeting between people, maybe trepadation; about how someone will view us, do we measure up, will we be dismissed, will we be rejected, any number of feelings of trepadation. It is just those moments that we have to get past, for any sort of real communication to happen and hence any understanding of disabilty, as well as their abilites.

Thank You
Dear Midship,
I had the pleasure of having an uncle with down syndrom. He was the crux of our family. His birthday was the family get together from both sides of my parents for his years upon this earth. He was the joy of our lives for keeping things so simple and the bond to remind us that we all are one.

I miss him.
Furthermore....
I have a friend who used to be on this site, but she is sadly not participating with us. Her handle was Arabella. She became my friend Joanie. She has a disabled child and being a woman alone in the stretches of New Hampshire, I felt a friendship for her, for being so strong to love, day in, day out for her child.

I've just dried my eyes at your post...we are all one irrespective, we are all here
Midship: Hey, we have swapped much spit on this You make me laugh ::she smiles a lot:: Sure if they didn't have me to corrupt them what hope would they have Would you trust them to anyone else Ray is more than welcome, you know I have mucho respect for him
swapped spit? must be an Oirish expression, cos if it were a canadian idiom we'd still be lip-locked.
my point however was to teach the those with an apparent disabilty to understand. visible disability.
AND
you know I have no control over Ray, that was a wasted threat..
