LOL! That's easy: This is...We are a disposable society "we" are spreading(have spread) like a virus across this planet and are out seeking the last remaining vestiges of real humans to turn them also into consuming and disposable zombies... it would make a good horror movie if it weren't so true...%/

Because politicians can't profit from your good intentions or good deeds.
You have to buy the horse from the market, not just visit it with carrots.

I don't know.....
Sometimes it feels like the world is more and more cynical.

People don't believe in people anymore. They believe in their stuff.Their posessions...

In my late 20s - early 30s I did alot of volunteer work for migrant communities and their children.
I was pretty much seen as some kind of loser.....desperate.....alone......of no value....lost loser.......
by the very people I was trying to help.

I agree! But where in the history of mankind did we decide that to have more then you needed made you better then anyone else.

The only thing seperating mankind from animals is not self awareness, it's greed.

The when and where is at the start of the "Industrial Revolution" in England just after Waterloo; the reason/ justification for economically massed workers is still basically the same: to create the needs for mass consumption by the masses. "Madison Avenue" stepped in with the coercive advertisement philosophy of convincing the masses that they must keep up with their neighbors , in order to live more comfortably with more leisure time. Later it also came to be expounded that it was also very patriotic and that if you did not purchase more to help support a war waged for the people, by the people and , of course, of the people, since it was the common peoples sent off to die; you were being unpatriotic which was almost as vile as treason....all psychological manipulation. Where has it gotten most of the peoples but into un-payable but ever increasing debts to be inherited by their offspring...with less landfills to pile up the latest disposable junk, most likely radio-active....et voila, an uncontrolable merry-go-round gone beserk....

I live in the land of "how much you make, where do you live and what do you drive?" Sad.

To quote a certain Monty Python movie, I fart in their general direction...dancing

I'm sure it does.

It's demoralising to reflect on what drives most of us humanoids.......
What we respect, crave, lust over, believe in.......but there it is! roll eyes
