Not exactly boy!..(more oldie!)lol, but as i have gone through life still single,and seen what women "really really want"...cue for song!!. I have come to the conclusion that "nice"men are a dying breed,though not with me(M-m-m-m-m,maybe thats why i'm single?)Dooh!. Anyway,why is it that women LOVE bad boy?
personally i can't be bothered with bad guys. But don't want any one i walk over either. Mind you i seek the same criteria in friends

I am not very good at recognising a 'bad guy' - I am not even sure there are such things ... everyone is good AND bad ... I recognise my own faults - but what may be termed as a 'fault' in some people is what others may find appealing.
My sister has a partner who is generous, loving and very attentive; they have been together for 30 yrs. But I would find his attentions stifling - he is a lovely man, but he rings her so many times when they are apart, and to me, seems terribly insecure; my sister seems to be always reassurring him, always changing her plans to suit him ... she seems never to have a spare moment to herself.
She sometimes gets frustrated with how demanding he is of her attention ... he gets upset when she wants to go somewhere without him, and looks positively on the verge of tears if she says a harsh word to him.
He is a 'good' man ...... but how very draining it must be to be in a relationship with a man like that.
'Bad' men do not appear to be 'bad' when you first meet them (or not usually) but a psychologist friend of mine says that we all reveal ourselves very early on in a relationship, and if we are careful, we should be able to identify the type of person we meet for who they really are underneath the 'front' they put on in the beginning of a relationship.
I think this is quite true. How often have we met someone who appeals to us but we have a niggling little doubt ... and then later in the relationship we see that the 'little doubt' should have been taken note of.

Bad boys...Well I don't like my men mean and definitely like them polite and well mannered....I prefer the pretty boys rather than the rough-around the edge types, hate slobs, rednecks, try-hards but I do like my guy to have some spunk when he needs it..I don't like to be boss, only in the bedroom

Still not sure i fully understand why women are drawn like a magnet to the "bad boy", put themselves through heartache and pain for years,only to realise later in life that they have wasted so much time and effort on destructive relationships!
I echo your thoughts on not feeling sorry for yourself...life's too short! Looking forward with a positive attitude is the life we all seek. As for me? will continue to be the "good boy"
