27 so far are retiring which leaves that many seats to be filled .

My question is Why? can it be the house of credit that bush family reign has built is collapsing and his cronies, puppet like house representatives are now free to collect their rewards in the private sector. like vultures who have been patiently awaiting to time to swoop down and feast upon the carcass of the American working class.

27 are soon to be free to roam and collect their bounty from blindly supportting the destruction of the American economy.... How I wonder where they will be popping up their heads in the private sector, or if we as citizens be be made privy of their "new" positions? Any thoughts?

Bailing out because its a tough fight is paramaount to saying they where not in it for the people to befin with wouldn't you think?

17 longtime Republicans. Many of the retirees are powerful silverbacks, committee chairs like Sherwood Boehlert, R-N.Y., of the House Science Committee; Bill Thomas, R-Calif., of the Ways and Means Committee; and Henry Hyde, R-Ill., of the International Relations Committee., Rep. Sherwood Boehlert, In the past week alone, Reps. Jim Walsh, Ron Lewis, Dave Weldon and Tom Davis have all announced they will not seek another term next year. Missouri Republican Kenny Hulshof.

I find this very intriguing. although it will not get big press coverage. /why this is the season to elect a president not the legistlative offices.

I see both being very relevant to one another.

Why the exodus? why now?

"serving at the presidents pleasure" what a phrase

sadly these representatives misunderstood their position it was not their job to serve for his pleasure but to serve for the constituents that elected them. Beware what private sectors and corporations these public servants go to to pasture in.... as it said"follow the money" people.

Old sailors know not to wait for the captain to announce "Abandon Ship" They know to watch the rats. When the rats jump over the side, it's time to pull on your flippers and hit the water.rolling on the floor laughing
