Hi fellow CS members. My name is Jon.

confused I've had a long time crush on a woman I've seen around Nelson region. I know her name and I know her address. A long time (5 or 6 years) ago she had a profile on hotmail.

I've never talked to her. Let's call her Suzy. I'm thnking about writing a letter to tell her about a bit my self and see if she's interested in meeting me for a coffee sometime. Obviously I would make it somewhere public so she could walk away if she wanted to.

My question is; Should I write to her or just forget about her? From Shy gent. help

Ooh Richmond i use to live at Tahuna Beach for a wee while..
It is nice there, also use to live in Takaka and was self sufficient living down there... except we only got about an hours tv from due to batteries running out so we never use to get to see the ending of movies ha ha..
.wave
I say go for it..maybe not write a letter but if you can find out where she works or goes for lunch or know a mutual friend you can approach her through. Writing is ok, but i am not sure i would be a bit freaked if i got a letter asking me out.
Not sure what other women would think. Just me i guess, however dont let this put you off approaching her, just maybe from a slightly different angle.. not sure... but good luck Richmond is not that big lol i am sure you will bump into her somewhere, just go up and start chatting, women like confident men.. and ask her out for a coffee is a great idea...!!! teddybear Goodluck!!

Hey Jon, Be brave Be bold walk right up to her tell her exactly how you feel Im 45 & have learnt that being honest open forthright & bold is by far the best approach not only in Love but also Life ! If your a decent bloke & you know it then you deserve to get everything you want outta life,If she knocks ya back Dont let it knock ya down just know its not meant to be & move on theres someone out there for you you just have to be open to the possibilities..

Anyway thats my 2 cents

roll eyes Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I wrote a letter to another crush I had one time and it didn't work out.

I imagine women would have more problems with trying to attract a certain guys interest. I'm conservative and old fashioned in my ideas it seems. Has anyone got an interesting story on how they started talking to someone they were interested in going out with? conversing

Do you know where she works? If so, is it a work place that you just 'happened' to be in and run into her?

Good luck with what ever you do.

Hey Belle, i lived by Richmond as well and Takaka as well... just as you come down off the ranges before you got into Takaka we use to overlook three big teepee's that these people use to live in. God i use to love Takaka you could get up in the morning put anything on the more it mismatched the better, wear one red sock one brown sock and a pair of gumboots and go grocery shopping and you just fitted right in with everyone else ha ha!!!

There use to be a cafe there with a courtyard opposite the post office where all the locals sort of use to hang out a bit that was cool.

I use to love it... we lived the real alternate lifestyle there, even had to walk through the bush to the outside loo with the glass panel door so you could sit, do your business and look out over the bush as we were up in the ranges with no one around us.

Had a coal range stove to cook on... use to take about two days to cook a roast lol! OMG those were the days... it was a great lifestyle.. golden bay beaches awesome!!!
We use to lose our sheep regularly, they would jump the fences and go up into the ranges then appear a week or so later when the grass had grown again!! God we were totally mad farmers... use to milk the cow. Had a goat and chickens... i really miss having animals now and now you cant afford to live in Takaka it has gotten thee place to live like the old Motueka became fashionable after all the germans started immigrating and buying up all the land the alternates moved to Takaka and now they are all down fox river west coast !!

dunno I should have taken the chance to talk to her when I knew where she worked but I was too much of a wimp. I guess I've got to stop being such a girls blouse. If I do what I've always done I'll get what I have always got.

I think I'll go out in the garden to eat worms. crying

Look chap. Typically i am going to take a different approach to everyone else.

This time I'll drive Bourbons car.

Look if you have seen her around over these years then she's seen you around. If you haven't talked or interacted, then she see's nothing in you.

Get over her and move on. She is obviously out of your league. Find someone you aren't afraid of and be happy, and yourself.

I say this because; if your too afraid to approach this broad: then you do; You'll be spending the rest of your time trying too hard to try and please her.

Writing a letter will also give the wrong impression of you. The words won't go across properly. And unless a photo is added you will have her looking over her back to see who is stalking her. And if a photo added you could have the Police knocking on your door with a trespass order.
Not to mention photo posted in paper with some stupid comment making you laughing stock of town.

Get a life (Said in a nice way) and only do what your comfortable with. Your not comfortable with her or you would of approached her by now.

JMO.

Wow thats awesome... you must of lived down east takaka road, cos thats where the teepee's are, and i'm sure they are still there today. i lived on the main road going into takaka township, about half way from the bottom of the hill.. We use to have to light the coal range to heat the water.. so funny, had cold showers a few times..!!! I still got family members there..!!
And i lived just outside of richmond too.... Redwoods Valley...i loved it there, wished we hadn't moved to golden bay.. but such as life. i came to love the Bay over time. Wow isn't it a small world..!!!!

Hope your having a great day...wave
