I agree. Give the poor girl a break. Sadly, society now wants celebrity over anything and she is a celebrity. Her downfall is seen as a something for all of us to judge and laugh at.

I feel sorry for her too but I feel more sorry for the public in general because so much emphasis is placed on these celebrities. And we sit in front of our idiot boxes watching it, buying magazines and celebrity rags and having them design the "fashionable" clothing we buy. We have crested an entire industry based on nothing more than gossip, poor taste and sticking our noses into other people's lives.
I wonder how important Britney or any other celebrities would be if we simply enjoyed them when they were performing and tuned them out when they wern't. This of course will never happen because people are too consumed with things that don't really matter in an effort to escape their own lives. What we should be focused on are the people near and dear to us and the ones who really want/need our attention.

That's what I do, course I wouldn't enjoy Britney anyway, but I couldn't care less what she does in her private(?) life. She's just another sad victim of her own demons. Many more people like her that I know who are fighting their own battles that deserve my sympathy more than she does.------ This thread is Archived ------
