I suppose this could go under polls but it is just a ponderance
Is the human being monogamous by nature
Or is it a piece of paper that is the binding force

If that were true, no one would EVER look at another male/female when with a mate. Just doesn't happen. All animals want to do is mate mate mate mate.

Monogamy is the will power to overcome that animal instinct and be with the ONE AND ONLY. But that doesn't wor out very often either, as is evident by the population on internet dating sites.

Yeh I think part of it is how you were brought up and the morals that were learned. With that knowledge, comes respect for yourself and others, expectations, and self-discipline. We are not raised as animals, so I think we can control those types instincts that animals can't, its our choice. JMO

Put it in perspective.

Geese are monogamous.
White wolves are monogamous.

Dogs are not. That is why they are called mongrels. laugh

Beware gongman!

I don't bellieve we are monogamous by nature but we are brought up, hopefully, with moral guidelines which most of us try to follow. What we see in reality however, is that many people find this socially acceptable monogamous behaviour difficult to maintain. That doesn't mean they are 'bad' people.

bad and good in this situation are irrelevant. there are too many opions to judge

Well exactly, isn't that what I said? I answered your question...... no I don't believe we are monogamous by nature, I stated why I thought this, then I offered a little extra! This extra was given because people are often too quick to judge people who have, for reasons we often know nothing about, detoured from what is deemed 'acceptable'.
