the only ones that a friend has been to are the speed dating nights...she found it fun and meet some really nice people it wasn't not to badly priced either. Not sure if you'd be into that tho.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I actually like the idea of the dinner date thing as it is 6 people (not too full on) you get to go out to dinner, never a bad thing - but the sign up is a bit pricey and puts me off. So thanks for the (cheaper) alternatives - great ideas!
so why go out and spend 200 bucks on nothing, Get Jimi and Lou Kizzy ( just a few I can think of) round up a couple more folks from here tell em ya want to shake it up and ya plan to buy everyone who comes a round then they have to take care of themselves...
betcha would meet lotsa folks and it would turn into a nice party and if ya need to arange it all I'm sure Jimi and Lou would be most interested to help...

Having not had too much luck on other dating scenes recently my friends are trying to convince me to use some dinner dating services (I think in Melbourne places like dinner at eight and table mates).
I don't know anyone who has done this and I guess it sounds like a good idea you go out to dinner with a group of people and if you are lucky someone particularly nice. At worst I figure you meet some nice people.
But (there is always a but) it is a bit exy to join - around $200 and then you pay each dinner an admin charge. I guess I am hesitant to cough up the cash if it isn't a great service, but if it is a good night out etc maybe worthwhile.
I would love to hear from anyone who has been through this, or knows someone. Good and bad stories are much appreciated!!!
