I wonder sometimes if that is just what the past is - the dust of our dreams?
The future is what we choose carry forward and maybe what we have made from our experiences - all that we are yet to be.

Trish I like the concept of 'past as dream dust'
Dreams that fade,
that dwindle into dust,
are meant to settle
on our skin
for future winds to scatter,
butterfly scales of colour
yet to come.
or something like that!

I enjoyed the poem and I enjoy your words of wisdom.My way of looking at it is a spritual way because that is my way.
