I remember playing British Bulldog, i loved going out to play, and we went all over the place and we played in the 'bombed buildings' ( old post war houses that were getting knocked down, thats what we used to call them) that we had near us, thinking back it was bloody dangerous but as kids its an adventure.

the freedom then was great but where ever i was i could always hear me mam calling me in laugh

thats just how it was then though , we used to play all over the place an you knew what time you had to be in or you would get a roasting off your mam , our front door was always open , mam used to nip out to the shop and not bother , nobody did then ,

no way could todays kids have the freedom we had then , people are just too scared to let them out their sights , but you never really see kids playing out like we used to do you ? its a shame :

Yea kids are wrapped up in cotton wool these days. There were p*dophile around when i was growing up we had one in our street. My mam told me don't talk to mr so so he want to look at your knickers. We just listened as i didn't want him looking at my knickersrolling on the floor laughing

I can laugh about it now however the danger hasn't risen only our awareness due to the media has

Not sure I can remember which was my fave childhood toy, it was so long ago and I've not got a good memory at the best of times laugh

Oh yeah, I liked my bike, skipping rope, those clacker things and those board game things. Kerplunk, Twister. Mousetrap and whatnot.

Great idea for a thread! Nothing better than reminiscing!!

Best toy I had?... Hmmm.. It would deffo have to be my WWF (now WWE) wrestling ring, it had little buttons that made crowd noises and the likes, obviously it was made better by all my wrestling figures I had, would spend hours having Royal rumbles! Great times!

Incidentally, does anyone wish they were a kid again? I do all the time... I want my 6 week holidays back crying
