Looking for some promotional ideas for my company. I build custom furniture
Wine cellars, wedding arches, just about anything having to do with custom carpentry.

Anyone here have any good ideas? I want to expand again!

What I have been doing for the past few years:

(1) Displays, flyers exc. In local wine stores. Paying special attention to those who cater to wine clubs.

(2) Displays, flyers exc. In local home décor centers, interior design boutiques and home improvement centers.

(3) Advertisements in local news papers and yellow pages.

Any new ideas would be greatly appreciated! Just remember I’m dealing with a limited budget right now. Just purchased $13000.00 in new equipment.

confused

Not sure exactly where you want to go..whether you want to currently branch out and extend you products or just trade..
Do you have a website??
You could branch out on the wedding arches..perhaps go into some promotion with local celebants or wedding caterers and organisers..I am unaware of your area and its needs so it is a bit difficult for me to offer any suggestions..
I think you should have that cute puppy as your trade mark!!!!

A local guy does well here and he advertises himself as ...Hire yourself a husband..the man that does what your husband won't!!!...He sanded my outdoor table...

Looking to both expand our product base and our coverage area. Looking for ways to get the word out and increase our client base. Looking for less expensive methods of advertising and just good new ideas!

Word of mouth is always the most resourceful tool as you know but it takes time and time is money!
I know the world is saturated with advertising..I personally often choose not necessariy someone in the immediate area but moreso someone that has invented a humorous catchy phrase or jingle that really sticks..
Perhaps you could make your flyers quite entertaining while still getting the facts across....(perhaps you already have..lol)

cheers

There seems to be more and more people wanting customized computer desk/cabinets. Multi function items are great. (long narrow table that folds over to make seating.) (stools that become ladders.)( light picnic tables that fold to be hung in the garage.)(potting benches that double as a work benches)...etc. Get 50s-60s books on wood working ideas....then modernize good practical ideas.

Editors of magazines will often write a free piece on a new and innovative items. Choose the proper magazines and send out media kits at the proper time to reach print during the right season.

Fund raising is a way also. If an organization is large enough with enough members to get out and sell tickets. Require your cost back and all profits are theirs. The item could even be custom within limits.
They advertise, you get your cost back, free advertisement.

A P.I. (per inquiry deals) with local papers and radio stations can provide good free public attention.

Business books on the subject are worth while. Find one book then look in the back for more on the subject.

About 65% of our business is from word of mouth. And our current slogan is “Call Bama’s Best And Forget The Rest”banana

There's always radio and tv

i don't know if this is feasible for you...........but "loan" some of your products.......like an arch for a wedding or a wine rack or something........and when you do you can leave your business cards so that when people see how the work is they can call you for their very own

visit hotels and apartment buildings and "loan" a piece or two.....or if you find the right establishment sell them a small piece to start

try art museums and libraries as well

it helps not just to get your name out there........but also people view your product

there are always business expos or wedding expos or if there is somewhere nearby that does wine tasting those are good places to take your products as well

and hey there are always planes with skywriting or banner sgrin
