I am contemplating rewriting my introduction [About me]

Lately this place has become smth like an interrogation chamber for once, secondly it has become a subsidiary to private correspondence, thirdly a sense of immaturity/inability to handle things woven through certain threads with summoning higher forces just overwhelms me.

I do love all of you, you may ban me, you may kick me but get a life for God's sake!

I am a loose-tea-girl :D [beware of a 'tea' bit!]
Shall be delighted to do some clubbing though. Thanks!

My intro says 'I love EU Forum' and now I see it as bad taste, it associates for me with 'Weakest link'. Yuck!

Lionheart1211: If truth be told is there anyone to talk to anyway? The regulars chat between themselves and respond each other's posts and exclude all others. I agree with Marivanna...EU Forum is not what it used to be

perhaps it's lack of participation then

or the source is.... there's lack of participation because the questions are not good enough to answer?

well, I must admit, it's easier to answer questions than to make the questions (the threads, I mean)

my favourite one is the word assiciation and the girls only thread (no need to think there)

and I try to answer to the other threads that are posted, specially if I like the idea or they make me think.

Since I have not been here very long, I can't compare this forum to what it used to be like, but it seems to me that "the regulars" cannot respond to someone who is not there - if more people joined the discussions, "the regulars" would have more to respond to.

From what I've seen, as soon as someone new pops their head in to check out the forum, they are very warmly welcomed.

If it is a question of the threads not being interesting enough, or to everyone's taste, just post new ones!

Do stay Marivanna, we do enjoy your posts and more so your replies to others posts.
Private correspondence? You know that most of the members here know each other personally, it being such a small island, so it would only be natural to contact one another at times in private, not wanting the world to know what happens in our daily lives......
As for me, I'll always post something, am definately not politically correct but don't appear to get too bashed about because of that either..........
On the whole I find the threads a friendly place, if anyone thinks the place is boring......then do something about it.......post something you find interesting and others may do so too

People talk about interesting posts! By whose standards? What is the definition of interesting? What's interesting for some is boring for others

What is interesting to some is boring to others is so true, so we comment on what we find interesting and ignore what we don't.............the world isn't perfect.
Merely answering this thread though you are contributing to the forums...............lets hope others do so too

yep. totally right there.

I remember when I saw the twinsouls thread... I didn't pay much attention to it then because I wasn't too much into that subject then.. but then I just had to go and look it back. so sometimes it's just that a particular subject doesn't catch one's attention on a particular day.

If the posts which present contributors find interesting are boring to others then let the bored others post something which is interesting for them. The forums are completely open to all and Nina is absolutely right, newcomers ALWAYS get a nice warm welcome from pretty much all of us.

I am curious ... Are you realy only 3ft tall?confused

You say this site has become like an interrogation chamber? ..... Why is that? What gives that impression?.... oh, is it questions like this? But you posed them, so I just asking for elaboration, if you dont mind too much?

Is there a reason you dislike knowing there is private correspondence here?... Is that not the reason for the site providing the private mail facility? So those not interested in long waffling correspondence between two people, and the hi-jacking of threads, that personal stuff can just be privately read?

Why do you say people here must "get a life for Gods sake!"? We, or I, and I`m guessing most people here do have a life ..... we are also just members of this forum..... what is so awful about that?.... You are also a member here, obviously.

Well, its your thread, so I`m guessing you are seeking contributors to it?

dunno confused cheers

Thank you for your words of welcome.
Just to put things straight, you must not take offense at my strong words. I was explaining what can happen if, like me you are not always politically correct and post challenging threads Most people contribute to threads constructively. I was not referring purely to threads but also to my experience in general. Too many people take on airs of righteous indignation and cannot meet one’s arguments with sensible balanced arguments of their own. Perhaps Marivanna has been on the receiving end of such reaction. I have posted threads which stirred so much reaction that people emailed me directly , not bothering to make a contribution to the forum thread. If enough such reaction is triggered people think twice about posting new threads as seems to be the case with Marivanna. Why can people not agree to differ?
