A group of his mates are sitting at the bar discussing problems.
The man joins in the conversation.
"My wife has cut me down to just once a week," he said looking upset.

"Cheer up mate," said one of his his friends. "She's cut some of us out completely."

Kisses

A husband writes a letter home from a business trip:

Darling, this month I wont be able to send you any money. I am sending you 100 kisses instead.

A wife replies:
Dear, thank you very much for a 100 kisses! Here is an expense report:
1. Milkman agreed for 2 kisses for a bottle of milk a day.
2. Electrician agreed only after 7.
3. Landlord comes every day for his 3 kisses a day.
4. Grocer would not agree for kisses only, had to give to him something else.
5. Other expenses - 40 kisses.

Do not worry, I still have 35 kisses till the end of the month.
Shall I plan the same for the next month?
Your beloved wife.

No difference?

Doctors treating a Chinese woman who complained of feeling weak discovered she only had half a brain.

The woman, 39, from Wuhan city, has lived a perfectly normal life and only came into hospital after she complained of feeling weak and stiff.

Zhang Linhong, director of Neural Rehabilitation Department at the local hospital, said: "On the MRI scans we were surprised to see that she only has grey matter on the right side.

"Our usual understanding is that the left brain controls language. But this patient has no problem communicating with people."

The woman's mother said her daughter lives a very normal life.

"She graduated from high school with good marks. Her memory is very good. She remembers phone numbers and names immediately."

Dear Smoky, this is called FAS, and this is no fun. As you read about it you will start recognising them.

Cheers to everyone.

RE: A very happy announcement

I would rather call it a beginning! :D

May long live the happiness!

Hugs & kisses

Gosh, I'm blue! O_o

So here they are, indigo kids [lookup Wiki]

- They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it). [guilty :D]

- They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that. [guilty again]

- Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are." [I did!]

- They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice). [bullseye :D]

- They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them. [can't be asked]

- They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought. [very much!]

- They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system). [gets me into trouble.. on a regular basis]

- They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially. [even my cat is antisocial]

- They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did"). [this is a repetition! look the authority lines!]

- They are not shy in letting you know what they need. [never noticed, the worst I get a 'no', but if I never had it before how that can hurt?]

What colour are you?

Dear Dad Letter..... Brilliant!

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed
was nicely made, and everything was picked up. Then, he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow.

It was addressed, 'Dad.' With the worst premonition, he opened the
envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands.

'Dear, Dad.
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to
elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene
with Mum and you.

I've been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I
knew you would not approve of her, because of all her piercings, tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am.

But it's not only the passion, Dad. She's pregnant.

Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.

We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't, really
hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves, and trading it with
the other people in the commune, for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS,
so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit, so you can get to know your
many grandchildren.

Love, your son, Joshua.

P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Jason's house.
I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than
the school report that's on my desk.

I love you!
Call when it is safe for me to come home.

The 90/10 Principle part 2

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush

upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off)

Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.

It CAN change your life!!!

The 90/10 Principle part 1

Author : Stephen Covey ( Management Guru)

Have you read this before? Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your

daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?

B) Did your daughter cause it?

C) Did the policeman cause it?

D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

Read part 2

8 minutes

Lets see..
What have I got for not following the instructions. I did not forward it to 8 people, I posted it here and 43 people have read it so far.
5 times as much! Whatever was going to happen to me now comes multiplied by No of people reading it.

What have I got as of now?

Been told off for putting it here.
Benn asked to stay extra hours at work [for today as we are at the deadline for a multi-million project, gosh! considering I always stay 1-2 hours after my official end of the business time - meaning we may stay here till midnight]
Been charged twice on my credit card for a single transaction.
Been hinted I am no longer in control of my own plans and actions.

May be you better stop reading this thread? :D
Next time I'll better follow the instructions as is?

8 minutes

TEQUILA AND SALT

This should probably be taped
to your bathroom mirror
where one could read it every day.
You may not realize it,
but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world
that you would die for?

2. At least 15 people in this world
love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you
is because they want to be just l like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone,
even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you
before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever,
something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has
turned its back on you, take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received.
Forget about the rude remarks.

So.....?
If you are a loving friend,
send this to everyone,
including the one that sent it to you.
If you get it back, then they really do love you.

And always remember.....
When life hands you lemons,
Ask for Gin and Ginger beer and call me over!!

Good friends are like stars.....
You don't always see them,
But you know they are always there.

'Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even Though
Sometimes It's Hell in the Hallway.'

I would rather have one rose and a kind word
from a friend while I'm here
than a whole truck load when I'm gone.

Forward to all your friends.
And don't tell me you're too busy for this..
Don't you know the phrase
'stop and smell the flowers'
See how many 'bouquets' you end up with!

Happiness keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Failures keeps You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only

Mail her back to me

'Worry looks around, sorry looks back, Faith looks up.'
This angel is sent to you.
You must send her to 8 people including me.

In 8 minutes you will receive something you have long awaited.
Have faith.

Exam

An exam for future film directors in an art school.

A couple arriving to a party. How can you let everyone know immediately they are married?

- She's arranging his tie.
- Could be his secretary, fail.

- He's giving her a tender kiss on her cheek.
- Most probably lovers, fail.

- He grumbles 'Why did I marry you?'
- They could be divorced... Fail.

- He gets a handkerchief from her handbag, blows his nose and puts it back in her bag.
- Pass!

RE: Miserable Day

I sounds more like a
Happy future-mother-for-the-third-time day!

RE: The Toad

Spare me the temptation then, stop leaving them on my bedside table!

Free will? lol

There is no more of such excuse 'Sorry I did not want to do this, I really did not mean this to happen...' More like 'I could not help it happen'

Free will? lol

You are at will not to stretch your hand to any chocolate
but give in to your electrics just for this only one sitting nicely on a shelf and teasing your pleasure receptors :D

Free will? lol

No free will, that is.

Free will? lol

Free will is the ability to act or make choices as a free and autonomous being and not solely as a result of compulsion or predestination. According to Freud's discovery of psychic determinism - the fact that much of our cognitive and affective life is unconscious - there is not much left for freedom of action.

Experiment on the correlation between electrical activity of the brain and movement (lifting a finger for example), reveals that the electrical activity precedes the movement by 200 milliseconds. It is proposed that the process of initiating a voluntary action occurs in an unconscious part of the brain, but that just before the action is taken, consciousness is recruited to approve or veto the action. In the 200 milliseconds before a finger is lifted, consciousness determines whether it moves or not.

Thus, our conscious mind may not have free will, but it can freely modify inappropriate behavior. This is the reason for the laws in our society to hold all of us accountable for our own action. It is suggested that we should update our idea of free will to mean self-control over our behaviour.

RE: The List

Story-wise - may well be the case...
Had to stop reading halfway, have a walk, cup of tea, read the comments. And thought if there is a twist I gotta read it. He could have been a weirdo, he could have been a victim just the same. Very sad true story.

RE: Do you want Rusty back here in the forums?

Weakest link [am I repeating myself?], get rid of competitors by any means.

Guys, be careful, otherwise we wont have any choice here :D

Kisses, hugs, coffees...

RE: Subjugation and and self-effacement in a partnership.

Ye ye ye ...
Well.

For starters, it is not prerequisite to view a partnership of two half empties and ever draining one another, is it?

Look at it as half fulls and filling up.

Hugs.

RE: Having an Opinion

Disagree. Sorry. Will elaborate later.

Tide?

I am a loose-tea-girl :D [beware of a 'tea' bit!]
Shall be delighted to do some clubbing though. Thanks!

My intro says 'I love EU Forum' and now I see it as bad taste, it associates for me with 'Weakest link'. Yuck!

Tide?

I am contemplating rewriting my introduction [About me]

Lately this place has become smth like an interrogation chamber for once, secondly it has become a subsidiary to private correspondence, thirdly a sense of immaturity/inability to handle things woven through certain threads with summoning higher forces just overwhelms me.

I do love all of you, you may ban me, you may kick me but get a life for God's sake!

RE: Do you want to see the video I made for a story?

Any chance I have a look?

Pleeeeease

The Dog in the Manger

I would be very careful with 'I know it all now' blindfold. No better than any other.

Sleep tight, sweet dreams.

One day I'll have to try blindfold in bed ;D

Leader of the free...

The Dog in the Manger

I was referring to yes and no.

As for change... debatable. IMHO, people can be same, no change in their core, but the way they express themselves or they dare to express themselves does.

The Dog in the Manger

Thank you DF :D

Gotta agree on age!
And disagree on black and white, however, I wish I was colourblind sometimes.
