So, I don't have much money,
Never did, and prolly never will,
But on Mother's Day, I'd like to say,
Here's to all the mother's round the world.
I can't afford to buy two billion cards,
That say much the same as this,
On this day, I hope you get your way,
Instead of giving, sit back and receive,
I don't believe in sappy fairy tales,
But in all you mothers I do believe.
Children are the future,
So in this fact we rejoice,
You give this world continuity,
And many souls a voice.
That would without you
Not be present, nor would
They know the joy of love.
A mother's pride is felt inside,
Even when a continent intervenes.
When we grow and leave the nest,
Our dear mother still knows best,
Which will hurt us and what will nurture,
So call your mother, or send a card,
Her bright smile is your reward,
And the simple fact that you're alive.
