It use to be that the big 4 door luxury cars and SUV's were more expensive to rent than the little compacts and sub-compacts. Not any more! In fact there's a good chance that if you reserve a sub-compact car to rent, you may wind up with an SUV! It seems the cost of gas has affected the choices vacation and business travellers make about the type of vehicle they want.
Advice: Insist on a compact or sub-compact when you make your reservation. Get there early before all the little gas efficient cars are gone.
