Lullaby

Sleep my baby, sleep my dear,
Iav-nanina-o.
It’s still dark, day’s yet not breaking,
Iav-nanina-o.
Nana I’m singing so that you sleep,
Singing you so that quiet you be,
Violet you bore with love in its heart,
Rose with a joy has brought you up.
Should Our Lady’s will be such
That I shall see you grown up,
Delia nana, my little one,
Watching me now with cherubic smile,
Sleep is coming, close your eyes,
Delia-nana-nanao!

About this poem:
This is the song Lullaby (Iavnana), the lyrics of which I have translated for you, dear poets, from Georgian. You could listen to the music, composed by our well known composer, to the heartfelt performance, and follow the lines of lyrics in English. The Georgian poetess Lali Gulisashvili is the author of the poem "Iavnana" (Lullaby). Below I attach the song. Hope you will enjoy it!

Many thanks, Mick, for commenting on this little one. Soothing is the most relevant description of it, any child will go to sleep before the song is over! Best wishes, dear poet!hug teddybear
