Oh, My Heart
Author: Iza Orjonikidze
Oh, my heart,
Like a town that lacks its fencing,
You defenseless, standing wall less,
Do not tell whom you are missing,
Do not stand up ‘gainst the wind,
Let it blow, soulless and idling,
Handing words round ‘long the road,
Let it not tell what it wishes,
Let it hear what it unwishes,
Do not call it, do not tell it
That you’re living, you’re alive!

Ahhhhh ! the vulnerability of beauty !!!!!
Do not tell whom you are missing,
Lest someone steals even the sweet memories
Do not stand up ‘gainst the wind, Let it blow, soulless and idling,
rejoice the sufferings of lost sweet
Handing words round ‘long the road, Let it not tell what it wishes, Let it hear what it unwishes, Do not call it, do not tell it
among the soul less mad mad world you’re living,
among the mad mad world you’re alone!

Deserve my praise? What has bewitched you
darling?
If I cannot praise you then have
I not become an empty shell?
Who am I without whom I
Must love?
I find my purpose within you
Where I discover me
No talent will put me above
You
No lowliness will put you
Beneath me
I find love not in me, or
You.. but us
And is this not marvelous
In our eyes?

If you never wrote a single word on a piece
of paper I would love you. And for a million
magical reasons that only God could explain.
