This is a link to a site that shows pics of starving Americans, among others.

Funny thing though. When I went looking up sites that talked about poverty in the USA, none of the sites worked. Isn't that odd? (I have friends who for many years have worked with the poor and starving in various parts of the States, so I know firsthand that it exists, so why hide it?).

Censorship maybe? Could the fact that this media outlet is, after all owned by America, have anything to do with it?

I would still contend that "starving" is an over-statement. There are so many non-for-profits that deal with food issues, along with government programs. The government even encourages people to get food stamps (via tv).

Len, I don't really believe people can ever starve to death in the USA. There may be people who are in abject poverty, in fact there are, but there is help if they are able or willing to make the effort and seek it out.

In other parts of the world however, people are literally starving to death. We have become too complacent in the western world and the words starvation and poverty have taken on a lesser meaning linguistically.

Hey we agree.

I searched for Indianapolis food programs. There was an exhaustive list. Of course Indy doesn't necessarily represent the whole US, but I think it's probably similiar.
