There are alot of people in this world that are shy. And I am a shy person also. But after awile I start to open up. Just remember they dont know you and you dont know them, So try to be a little opened, I also am learning to be opened also. It does work very well.

I am shy, and joining CS has helped me a great deal overcoming my shyness. I get to show my true personality without worrying about blushing, or saying something stupid....
Just keep trying to talk to people...send e-mails and flowers. Make friends with women here and talk to them, and be yourself.

I have never been accused of being shy but i have met some shy folks and ill tell you it can really be a detriment to dating. I have always been the kind of person that can strike up a conversation with anyone but i tend to talk too much sometimes and that is bad as well.

yeah, im the same, like i can chat away and make good convo on these kinda sites, and be a complete different person in reality.. its happened a few times, im just too self concious about my appearance kinda?? its all to do with confidence..

well, i wish i was shy, i am in a way i guess....but im pretty loud and outgoing...

I can be extremely shy at times .......... depends on the circumstances and how comfortable I feel. In regards to dating - I know that I've lost out on many opportunities because of it.
Alas - perhaps people are too much in a hurry - and once you stumble in your response which they interpret as rejection - they are not willing to get to know you any further.

I used to be really shy too, but then I realized something; being shy ruins your chances of meeting some really interesting people.
Don't be afraid to let people know who you are, and also don't be afraid of figuring out about others. Life's too short to expect a second chance to do everything later, and living with regrets is no way to live at all!
If you ever find yourself too shy to say anything, just bust out in song or something. I bet THAT would get a conversation started... or possibly a dirty look. Either way, it's better than nothing.

I am extremely shy when it comes to dating (what to wear, what to say,etc.) until I get to know the person and them I warm up easily. I actually cancelled two dates this year because I found it too stressful.
