I'm glad to hear she is doing well! As for the guy... if you have doubts if he pushed her or not he's probably not trustworthy enough for you to even consider allowing near her.
I'll add my prayers and best wishes!

irishlass45: i just saw this today haven't been on much, how is your son and sweet owen how is your friends niece? my god, will put both of them in my prayers.

Thanks so much. Unfortunately, she's not well. She has pneumonia & is partially sedated. They put the ventilator back on her. I'd like to see her, but I'm sure the less people carrying germs in & out & the less people bothering her when she should be resting, the better she'll be. I just pray she makes it through this. Her poor mother is devaitated. Her father hasn't left her side, which isn't exactly the best thing for her because she needs her rest & each time he leaves & comes back, he's bringing more germs in the room. Besides, he hadn't been there for her while she was growing up, but doesn't want to leave now. Yes, obviously he cares. But he's not really doing her all that much good, when you think about it.

He(father) does care, and he is trying to show that he does by being there while he still can.....There is more germs in the hospital than what he is bringing in, but yes you do have a valid point.

OMG, it sounds like tragedy all together, they need massive prayers, the more people who pray the better. Is there an investigation into this? and did you say ya'll saw him and another girl out there the next night? where out there? at the train tracks?

No, we were out at a local establishment & he was there, shooting pool with another girl. When he saw us, he paid up & they left.

As for the previous comment... yes, it's nice that he's there. But any medical professional will tell you that she will not be able to sleep as well with him & his wife in the room. The daughter will just keep being aroused from her sleep to see if he's still there & feel obligated to try to stay awake to talk to him. And yes, there are germs in the hospital, but they're trying to keep them out of her room. I do appreciate your opinion though! Thanks! wine

Sorry, forgot. Yes, there definitely is an investigation going on. Not sure what's going on with that though.

sounds weird is all, if he hadn't been out the next night maybe not but that is the fact and it is odd, imo. So how is she doing today?

I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers and sending positive energy her way. I'm so sorry you're going through this, I know how hard it is. I had a friend in 8th grade that was hit by a train, but he wasn't fortunate enough to make it past the E.R. I know she'll be ok, it's just going to take some time for her to regain her strength. She's obviously a fighter, she'll pull through this.

Love and light to you, her family and her friends hug angel hug

Thanks so much. My friend stopped in with her MIL to see how her niece is doing. I asked her to let me know & she said she would. Please keep your fingers crossed that it's good news.

Yes, she may have a long recovery, but at least she lived. I lost 3 friends in high school who were hit by a train.

Were they in a car? Because if he's up walking around the next day and out with someone else, it sounds more like he pushed her into this train.

No. Apparently, for some unknown reason, they were sitting on or by the tracks. The info is sketchy right now & of course, we can't ask her. We saw him out again. He totally ignored us. Used to be he'd always say hi to us. Verrrry suspicious.

My friend was saying last night that her body's riddled with infection. She said her body wants to shut down, but they're not letting it. And she must really be a fighter. When we saw her the other weekend, she seemed as though she was on the road to recovery, however long that road might be. It's almost like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I'm soooo worried for her!!! moping

i am so sorry to hear she is going through this.
you are right- she does not need her father there constantly- rest is very important in ICU. Someone should have a word with the nurses- I used t work ICU and we would sometimes say to families that, while we understood their wish to be with them, the patients wellbeing is most important and that they seemed to rest better when they had had fewer visits that day > ( sometimes a wee white lie for the benefit of the patient)- get them to really lay that bit on thick about it being for their relative. People often still try to 'talk' while on a vent, and this causes them huge frustration, and expends energy.

also- if the father was not involved grwing up- it may be causing her undue stress to have him constantly there now.

thinking of her and her familyhug

sillyricky55: Yea, I am with you on this one. If he did not, he will have to live with the fact that she is severly hurt. If he did, you will find out soon enough. Just hang in there.

That's true. My grandfather was robbed and pushed from a moving train 72 years ago by some men he knew. My grandfather lived, but lost an arm and a leg.

My grandfather held public office for many years, and those men still lived in that town and had to see him like that all of those years. They were never prosecuted, but I wonder how they felt every time he ran for re-election and his name and face were plastered all over town.

Thats true hun. But she can overcome it. My sister in law was run off the road 2 years ago and ran into a concrete culvert. She lost a lot of her intestines and the infection was so bad that they put her in drug induced comas 7-8 times. But she's still with us and doing well. She does have some problems, but she lived through it. And I'm praying that you're young friend - and youth does help, along with the fact that she's a mother - will help her to pull through this.
