People believe that animals and things like fish and snakes know when an earthquake is going to happen. let's comment what has occured in haicheng within china. it was not animals that warned the people of a coming earthquake. the authorities order the city to be evacuated because there were small earthquakes before the big one.
it is true that animals do behavior that isn't normal, like fish leaping out of the water and dogs barking all the time. but i think animals don't act any differently. people just notice a behavior that they didn't noticed before because an earthquake didn't forced them to notice the strange behavior. in addition, stories of animals who run away is the people making up things because they have been upset by the catastrophe. the chinese city of haicheng had a 7.3 magnitude quake in 1975 but nobody died because the authorities predict the big quake and told everyone to leave the city.

Animals can hear and feel the movement of the earth long before humans can due to their heightened senses , but I’ll still take a geologist over lassie any day of the weekgrin

A cat can see better in the dark than a man. So it can see another person better than a man and run away for fear. A man that notices this can use the cat to warn himself that another is present and not go outside to be robbed if such a thing is common to the area. Same with earthquakes. Due to the animals senses a man who notices can be warned by the animals natural actions during prequake activity.

Then a man can build a machine more able to react to prequake conditions and therefore warn himself of pending quakes. Some persons are able to notice prequake conditions due to learning known or unknown. But for a man to use a machine or his learned skill to react to quakes in no way makes the use of the natural animal senses void and fake.

I did not imply that in the least. I don't know where you came to that understanding.

Since the subject is now asked, I will say both are preferred instead of only one. Because the machine may not pick up things that animals can and the cat may be out of batteries that day!.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
